It was getting to be that time of year again. Snow was on the ground outside and a tree was up in the sitting room of the mansion thanks to Logan. Since the others seemed to be out or busy Jean took it upon herself to start stringing popcorn and cranberries together to put around the tree. She had already done her shopping which was easy for most of the team but she left out Scott not knowing what to get the man or what she should get him that his new wife wouldn't object to.
She put her glass of egg nog down on the table next to her and grabbed another bag of popcorn so she could get these finished and on the tree. She'd put these on and then wait for the rest of the team before putting more decorations on. She sighed to herself. "I need to get a life."

He never liked the holiday's It never really meant much to him if he could remember that is. He spent most of the time in the bar down the road...he hated not being able to get drunk.
He made his way in the large school to see a familiar red head. It was her...He pulled the fresh cigar out of his mouth as he made his way in. "Hey...you look busy." He teased.
She wrinkled her nose at Logan and tossed a piece of popcorn his way. It probably missed but it didn't bother her. "It's the highlight of the social season." She said in her best Emma Frost voice and stuck her tongue out at the end. "Thought I might get some decorations up on the wonderful tree you chopped down for us." She kept threading.
"Want to help out?" She scooted down on the couch to make room for him. "I could use a hand."
He moved along the room taking his seat with her putting the cigar back in his mouth. "It wasn't a big deal darling getting the tree wasn't a stretch." He smiled as he moved closer taking the beer bottle on the table he sneered at her impression of emma. "It's just you and me where the hell is everyone?"
"Still it's a nice gesture." She smiled. "You don't see Hank or Bobby going out to chop one down." She moved closer to him not minding the smell of cigar on him. She handed him a needle attached to a long piece of thread, a bag of popcorn and put the pot of cranberries between them hoping he got the hint. "Scott and Warren are after a new mutant. Others are out shopping for Christmas gifts." She was smart and got all that done days ago.
He took some from the bowl she left him as he helped her with it. "it's just you n me huh darlin? Can't say I aint going to enjoy my night then." There was always a hint there... something of a hint of flirting with her. He always loved her and always will. Between things with Scott had got to ahead and he hooked up with Emma. "you been looking good..."
She had put up with Logan's flirting ever since he had joined the X-Men. He didn't care then that she was in love with Scott and was going to marry him, hell she was practically a Summers. After her death and time in the White Hot Room and coming back to life she found that she doesn't have the same feeling for Scott as she used to. She looked at Logan and smiled, not finding the idea of flirting with him as a bad thing. She was a single lady, what harm would come of it?
"Unless someone runs in and ruins the moment then we are indeed alone." She laughed at him. "Pretty spry for a corpse huh?" She took her death and rebirth lightly, she had to or she would probably break down and cry. "But thank you for noticing."
He didn't know what to make of that, All he knew what that having her back made him feel good. It made him want her if only to keep her safe in his arms. He didn't know what else to say about her comment. He moved along the table and took her wrist. "Jeanie..."
He was going to be seriuse now...it was that moment. She was sitting down but he pulled her up. There eyes locking. "losing you...a small part o me died...and now I have you back...I-I don't wanna lose ya."
She felt this coming. Most people were walking on eggshells around her, afraid to say what was on their minds but she could always count on Logan to not be shy. What she didn't count on was him still carrying a torch for her after all these years. Not that she didn't like him or that she thought this was a bad thing but she thought that he would have moved on by now.
She went from sitting to standing before she knew it. Her popcorn string fell to the ground and his eyes were locked on his. "Logan.." She whispered. "I didn't know you still felt that way."
"I always cared about you and I always will..." He cupped her cheek. He gently bumped her head as he heard her voice deep in her captivated gaze. "I always loved ya... Always." He finally went in for a kiss letting the fire of her touch meeting his rough one.
There were words and then his lips were on hers and she didn't hate it. it was different then Scott's kisses, his were sweet while Logan's were pure animal passion. Boy Scout verses Weapon X, Weapon X wins this one. When the kiss broke her face was flushed but there was a smile on her lips. "Wow." Was all she could muster.
He caresses her face looking at her as he was pulling away. He could feel the breath on his face. He would never admit but the kiss from her meant that much more to him. Here with her right now. "Jeanie...I-I love you...I always have..." He sighed gently hitting heads with her holding her hand. "I don't ever wanna lose you..."
Her head was still spinning but in a good way. She ran her hand down his face and was grinning. "I don't have plans of going anywhere again so." she couldn't stop grinning "don't worry yourself about it." She knew if people walked in on them right now it would be bad so she pulled back even though she didn't want to. "Um. Wow." She said again. "I think I need some water.
He smiled as he got up and moved to the kitchen and got her some juice from the fridge, He moved back to give it to her. "Here red." He smiled handing her the cup of juice. "You ok darlin?" He held her head a moment before leaning in for just a tap kiss. He never thought he had THAT much of an affect on her...Lord knows she had that affect on him.
She took the juice and started to drink it using it as something to buy her a bit of time. Why was she so flustered? Because in a million years she never thought she would be free enough to have feelings for him that she could actually act on. Scott had moved on with Emma Frost so why couldn't she feel safe enough to move on with him?
"I'm fine. I just didn't think there would be a place were we could actually both be free of commitments and relationships and just be us." She sighed and took another sip of her juice.
He held her for a moment kissing her holding her again not really caring about scotts feelings or Emma as far as he knew he could just go fuck herself. All he wanted was her. All he wanted was to hold her. "Jean just let yourself go...let yourself loose..."
"Let myself loose?" She chuckled. "I'm not good at that Logan. I'm the good girl who dates the good boy." She sighed. "But I don't like the good boy anymore, I like the bad boy." She trailed a finger over his forarm. "A bad boy that should ask me out on a date I think." She grinned at him.
"Then what are we waiting for red?" He smiled kissin her again then getting up to go and get his jacket. "go get something nice ta wear I'm take ya somewhere nice and secluded. Ever just sit under a full moon?" He smiled kissing her hand as they moved. "you'll let loose yet doll"
