After The Raid @ 02:24 pm
nextgen_misc:
It had not been a good day for Roxxon Energy Corporation. The raid by S.H.I.E.L.D. on their sub-basement lab of the New York building had destroyed several million dollars of equipment, and all their prototypes had been seized, along with the original template escaping. The project's senior scientists had been arrested, although there was the usual rumor mill that they'd been 'recruited' by S.H.I.E.L.D. rather than face incarceration. The company itself however, had been able to disavow any knowledge of the project itself, and escape liability.
All in all, the technology in development had yielded partial successes, but the risks involved were deemed unacceptable.
Still, even a bad job can be put to good profit.
In the executive offices, a portfolio was slid across the desk to another individual. "Everything the Fuse-tech project yielded, and projected alternative applications."
A briefcase of unmarked bills was slid back in return. "And your payment. I heard all the trouble this little project caused you. Certainly a good thing no-one else is interested in it, let alone buying it." The individual picked up the portfolio, nodded, and exited with their bodyguards.
