The best defense (Mac, Namor, Marrina) @ 06:48 pm
little_mermaid:
Each round was getting harder and though she was loathe to admit it, it was becoming increasingly clear to Kassia that she did not know as much about Atlantis as she should. It chewed at her, the idea that perhaps there was merit to the voices that were steadily whispering about how a pink royal was worthless and not truly an Atlantean with Atlantean interests at heart. Except they used the term "bastard dirtwalker" in reference to her. They still hadn't taken kindly to the idea of her. She had to shake the thoughts from her head, though. Namor and his army was going to attack again and she had volunteered to make this raid herself. Anything to find where the opponent was camped and, perhaps, shut down some of his forces. They'd managed to shut down the left flank of Namor's forces two days earlier with this technique, though Mac had artfully used a double-agent to execute that operation. This, this was all Kassia. She could do this. She could shut Namor down, win War Games, and prove herself. Gripping the spear that was her weapon, she took a deep breath and left the safety of the corner she was hiding behind, heading for her target as silently as possible.

Messengers arrive with official transport for Kassia, Marrina, and MacKenzie, all duly informing them that the time has come to speak with Prince Namor regarding the whole unfortunate string of events that recently took place.

Since coming home, Mac had spent some time with the family, especially Mom (who was a little clingy for a while). He helped with the cleanup wherever possible. It was hard to believe HYDRA had pulled something like that. He didn't plan to stay long, but it was still good to be back. Besides missing Mom and Grandmother and Namor, He'd missed the city and his old underwater workout and training routines. It was also really good to have a bigger family now -- even aside from the semi-guilty little dance in his head at the fact that two perfectly nice girls were now standing between him and the job he'd always known he wasn't cut out for. Mac finished his initial workout and wondered about making arrangements for when it was time to go to New York.

A baby was crying. Maybe a toddler, Emma couldn't be certain. All she was certain of was that the child was female and afraid and, even deeper than that, something in her felt like it was breaking apart. It was dark, but Emma departed down what appeared to be a hall. "I'm coming, it's alright." The child continued to sob, but now it called out 'mommy'. Emma felt her adrenaline rush and her feet hurry further towards the sound. "I'm coming, baby, I'm coming!" The crying got louder and louder and Emma ran faster and faster and faster towards the sound, turning the corner and...found nothing. No child, but there was a bloody blanket on the ground and as she bent to pick it up she heard laughter. It was deep, male, and oddly familiar but she couldn't place it. "No!" Emma screamed. "No!""No!" Emma screamed out, thrashing in the bed. When her eyes opened, though, she realized it was not her bed. It was comfortable and the sheets were nice, but it wasn't her bed. Nothing in the room was hers. "Oh God, where am I?" She scrambled out of the bed and noticed bruises on her body and felt herself panic. He'd done this. Shaw had come after her. She ran to the door and tried to open it, but found it locked. So she started pounding on it instead. "SEBASTIAN SHAW YOU WILL NOT GET AWAY WI TH THIS!" Namor would come for her. He would. He'd find her. She just hoped she didn't have to give him bad news when he did. The bruises worried her and she started to wonder if her dream hadn't been a harbinger of bad things to come.

Atlantis was never a far trip, not if she was swimming full out. Sure, she could have arranged for pick-up of some kind, as befitted a princess, but Marrina was occasionally about establishing her own independence. She knew she'd been given incredibly free range in terms of royal demands on her, with her education in matters of state taking place on the side and sliding into her own schedule... She wondered if all that was finally catching up with her. In no time at all, however, she was at Atlantis.

The Coming Storm @ 11:58 am
nextgen_parent:
This scene occurs after "Daughters".
Namor, King of Atlantis, waits in front of the viewing screen to speak with another King, one whom he has both aided and battled at times. Namor has respect, if not friendship, for and with Doctor Doom; this is the only reason he feels he can speak with Doom regarding a matter such as this one. Doom has the ability, technology, and above all, the information necessary to aid Namor in this quest.
Namor is aware of what it may take to secure the Latverian Monarch's assistance, but he is prepared to pay that price.
Just as his enemies will pay for their transgressions against Atlantis...and him.
When Victor Von Doom appears before him, Namor steels himself and looks Doom square in the eyes.
"Our time is valuable, so I will dispense with games of statesmanship. I intend to wage a war against false kings and queens, pretenders to thrones they know nothing of." he says.
"I seek three things to wage this war, and all of them are within your power to provide. Speak your terms, and we will discuss what is necessary for us to deal with each other." the Sea King says.

Namor allowed Kassia to rest while he waited for Marinna and considered his plan. The idea he'd come up with was a more cunning plan than any other he'd ever engineered, and it was worth mentioning that he considered not following through upon it for Kassia's sake. She'd been hurt enough as it was, and he'd lost enough time with her. What time was there to waste upon vengeance on the one responsible for taking her from him? Perhaps it would be best to let bygones be bygones and allow Kassia's mother to live with the knowledge that Namor could strike at any time, and never know when or how the day was coming. But if Emma Frost possessed even THAT scant knowledge, she would attack him first, likely with Shaw's aid. And Namor's decision was made. "Paras, you are to arrange a meeting with Victor Von Doom for me, to take place after my meeting with Marinna. Neither of us need travel; I will speak with him from the war room. Word of this is not to be breathed to anyone, not even Marinna. Are we clear?" he says. "Yes, my King. And speaking of the Princess...she has arrived." Paras says. "Usher her to me, then leave us." Namor says, sitting down upon the throne.
