Attack of the Evil Grandfathers: Time for Dramatic Splash Pages! In a Sociopath's Delusional Mind! @ 07:56 pm
nextgen_baddie:
Well, that'd been a fun little jaunt uptown. Here was hoping it would put some ideas in the girl's head that his new buddy could make use of. Or not. Maybe it wasn't that kind of story. And of course, the Thinker hadn't been able to take down Alpha Flight. No harm, no harm. All just interlude. Just softening up. But waltzing up to a base in the middle of nowhere, of course, isn't Zeb's style. Too vulnerable, not enough leverage. So he's in town, cozy in a restaurant he's properly taken over, having analyzed a few choice haunts, keeping an eye out for any of Kara's girl's little friends. He dialed the phone.

Blind Date (Bentley / Korra meme response) @ 02:06 pm
wiz_kid:
There could definitely be worse ways to kill some hours in Toronto. Bentley had gotten in touch with Andrea's boyfriend in preparation for his Nefarious Plans, and small-talk had lead to the mention that he was going to spend a little vacation time in Toronto along the way. That had lead to discussion of Alpha Flight, and her royal cousin-neess. Bentley drummed his fingers impatiently on the table, sipping his coffee. He'd thought the whole blind date thing would be fun, but the past week of refusing to google his date had been nerve-wracking. It wasn't as if he didn't have the guts to just walk of if it went badly, but come on! She's a princess! One of Namor's daughters! He's a big fan of Namor, what with the imperious entrances, the raw power, and the occasional massive assaults on Manhattan. He was a regular in Bentley's fantasy supervillain leagues. But what was she like? Daddy's Little Hellion? Princessy like her actual title? Teen rebel? He was very curious. Covering his bases, he'd brought a single flower, and a small box of chocolate. Just something light and charming. Because being an evil genius doesn't mean you can't be a classy bro. He looked at the clock. Three minutes to go.

Attack of the Evil Grandfathers: Salvo @ 10:58 pm
nextgen_baddie:
The Baxter Building's security was on high alert. Just as it should be. All the more cameras to watch the people line up and start beating against the glass. Pressed close as a riot. Pounding on the doors until their hands bruised, blistered, and bled.. Zeb didn't stand with them, of course. He was out of sight... but near enough that the pheremones wouldn't wear off easy. Not for a long, long time. He'd had this crowd primed.

Attack of the Evil Grandfathers: Escape. @ 09:16 pm
nextgen_baddie:
Zeb had to admit it: as absurd villain team-ups went, the writers could have done much worse. ( Read more... )He turned it off, smiling. "What about you, Denk? Want to give your boy's little girl a preview, to listen to just as the view cuts back and forth from the news to her blank little face?"

Fortune cookies (Meme, for Jordan) @ 10:51 am
frosted_water:
Korra's favorite part of Chinese food was the fortune cookies that came with the meal afterward. She always liked to open them first. Her and Jordan were the only ones around at Alpha Flight HQ, so she'd ordered them Chinese for lunch, her treat. She'd ordered dumplings and brown rice. Korra brought the food into the Temple, a smile on her face. "Lunch is served!" She said to Jordan, handing him his food before sitting down on the sofa next to him. Korra rooted through the brown paper bag until she found the fortune cookie at the bottom. She grinned, tearing open the wrapper and cracked the cookie open. "You will have unexpected great good luck," Korra said, reading her fortune aloud. "Well, that's always nice."

Downtime (open) @ 08:51 pm
frosted_water:
Korra settled in quickly at Alpha Flight headquarters. She'd gotten everything in her room set up the way she wanted, and she was liking being on a team. Everyone had been nice and was helping her feel welcome. She hadn't gone on any missions with the team yet, but she was looking forward to it. Right now though, Korra was taking advantage of the Temple of Boom. She'd made herself a giant bowl of popcorn, had a twelve pack of diet coke, and seasons one through three of Glee on DVD. Korra popped the first disc of the first season in the DVD player, and plopped down on the couch. She took a bite of her popcorn as she pressed play.

The new kid (Alpha Flight) @ 09:03 pm
frosted_water:
Korra was nervous. She wasn't going to lie about that. She had butterflies in her stomach, and she was pretty sure her heart was beating faster than it should be. Not that she really had a reason to be nervous. Her sister's teammates were wonderful people, even if she'd only met them a handful of times. But still. It was nice of them to let her join, even if she had zero heroing experience. And she had to stop being so nervous. She was going to help people, like she wanted to. She was going to see new places and make new friends. Everything was going to be fine. The car pulled up to Alpha Flight headquarters, and Korra got out, thanking the driver as he handed her her luggage. She only had a couple of suitcases, but her mother said she'd send her more of her things once she'd settled in some. Taking her luggage, Korra walked up to the door and rang the buzzer.

Four Seasons Hotel 57 East 57th Street New York, NY 10022
Friday 21st of September Seven O'clock pm - Midnight
Formal dress required.
Please bring a donation for Toys for Tots. The grand ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel on 57 East 57th street was festively decorated for the holidays. A series of lit candles on every table gave off warm light and the dulcet tones of a jazz ensemble filled the room. People, the upper elite of New York society, Hollywood celebrities, musicians, politicians and even superheroes moved around the room. People sat at tables and talked, while some moved gracefully around the large dance floor. Tables loaded with unwrapped and unopened toys lined one wall and at one end stood a very large decorated Christmas tree. Wrapped presents sat under the tree, but they were just empty boxes wrapped for decoration. Mistletoe hung from the ceiling near the tree and people stopped to kiss. The air was light and the mood happy and festive.

Putting everything in place (Nim, eventually Alpha Flight) @ 10:15 pm
frosted_water:
Korra had been doing a lot of thinking, lately. On her eighteenth birthday, she'd asked her parents to allow her to join a superhero team, to allow her to spend more time on the surface, and so she could be a hero like her cousin and older sister. Her parents agreed, under the condition that she either join Alpha Flight, with her sister, or the Avengers with her cousin, Mackenzie. Korra had given it a lot of thought, and decided on Alpha Flight, her sister's team. Now came the hard part. Seeing if they'd actually let her on the team. Korra had butterflies in her stomach thinking about it, but she wasn't going to wait around any longer. While she was at her mother's house one day, she called her sister, Nim. She'd talk to her about coming out and at least visiting the team, first.
