Long Night of Work @ 05:00 pm
harkerlegacy:
It was almost nightfall in Seattle and Bram was in a good mood. It was going to be a nice night for hunting he could already tell. He was feeling good and it was supposed to be a clear night. It was always fun putting the fear of Harker into some vampires. Still it was early yet for doing any serious hunting so Bram headed over to Greg's bar for some food and drink before he would be heading out.

Happy Birthday, Dolemeck Night! (Open to anyone who knows Dolemeck) @ 07:45 pm
dolemecknight:
Current Mood: cheerful
"One thousand, one hundred, and fifty years..." Dolemeck mused to himself as he wheeled about the apartment he shared with Tyler. It was still hard to believe he was that old. He certainly did not feel it, and he feared that if someone put THAT many candles on a cake that it would burn down the apartment complex! Perhaps it was best not to tell anyone it was his Birthday? He managed to get on his pea coat and put a ski cap on his head. It was brisk in Seattle, today, and he doubted the doctors would want him catching a cold while he was still recovering from that Tryk attack. The last thing he wanted was to be scolded like some child. Perhaps a quick trip to Greg's bar was in order. A nice warm mug of spiced cider sounded like heaven at the moment. Or he could go to the tea shop that was close to the apartment... where would he go, today? Who should he hang out with? So many possibilities. "Tyler, I'm headed out!" he shouted back towards his room. "I shall return later!" With that he wheeled out of the apartment and headed out. The tea shop was a bit crowded this evening, so he decided to pass and just head to Greg's bar for a drink or two. Once inside of the bar, he took off his ski cap and fixed his hair a bit. Smiling, he wheeled himself over to Greg, who was behind the bar as always. "Good evening, Greg. How are you feeling?"

Mardi Gras! (Post Tryk Plot) @ 09:03 pm
dolemecknight:
Current Mood: cheerful
It had been over a month since the Tryk's had invaded Seattle, and since Dolemeck found himself badly injured. He also found himself remorseful for his own actions in regards to friendships and team mates. He apologized to Tyler for what he felt was an abuse in their friendship. He had used him more like a crutch, instead of treating him like a true friend. His naivete and annoying actions were all an act. All because he was scared to be himself, or be rejected by the world. It was such a hard lesson to learn, but a valuable. He and Tyler were on good terms, but Dolemeck opted to give his friend some much needed space and breathing room. He continued to pay for the apartment they shared, but took time to stay in New Orleans for a bit. He also wanted to give Argo a proper apology as well, as he felt he never treated his friend right. He booked his regular hotel room at one of the more expensive hotels in the Quarter, and waited for Argo to knock on the door. He had a cup of tea in one hand, and a book in the other. He was reading up on what Mardi Gras was, trying to inform himself on the local custom and where to go during the time the event was in town.

Invasion of Seattle @ 09:19 pm
nextgen_vampire:
Ophelia had planned this thoroughly ever since her surviving children had told her of what had befallen the others in the city. She could see that with this group of supernatural hunters, as well as the arrival of the vampire lord, Theodoric, that Seattle was about to become an important fixture in underworld politics. Whoever held it would be in a position of tremendous power. Though perhaps more importantly, the men her servants had described could potentially create a brood of daughters the likes of which neither vampire or human could stand against. Yes..this was far too tempting an opportunity to pass up. It started early into the night, and happened almost as soon as it had begun. Ophelia had a small of followers infiltrate Seattle bit by bit until they were indistinguishable from the mortal population. At the exact moment, several known vampire lairs were suddenly attacked by disguised tryks. The smaller populations were slaughtered instantly in the initial surprise while the larger ones were decimated and trying to hold back the attackers in the boughs of their lairs with superior firepower. In the news it looked almost as if some kind of gang warfare was going on. A nightclub, an office building, and a motel. Police had the areas cordoned off, though all attempts for them to enter the buildings had resulted in bloody deaths.

Time Honored Tradition - Rate The Babe @ 07:52 pm
brit_sorcerer:
The annual tradition of Rate the Babe was usually held at the Avengers mansion, but this year it would be held at Excalibur's headquarters in London. Quinn was more than happy to play host and set up refreshments. There was of course plenty of beer and it was accompanied by pub food. Quinn was already on his fourth beer when the guys started arriving.

The Camping Trip @ 07:00 pm
dolemecknight:
Current Mood: shocked
Argo had called up, somewhat thrilled about going on another trip. Then again, anything seemed to excite Argo or make him wish to adventure these days! Dolemeck was a bit hesitant to go, as EVERY adventure he went on with Argo led to some misadventure or chaos breaking out. But this one sounded... normal. They would rent some horses and go to Montana for a camping trip. No monsters, no crazy ex-girlfriends, no strippers... just camping with the guys. It sounded so normal, Dolemeck had to pinch himself to see if he was having a dream. Being as this was so normal, Dolemeck did not tell Tyler. Besides, he was a grown man and did not need to tell him everything anymore, right? He left a note on the fridge that he would be gone for a few days, and that he left Tyler a few cooked meals as an act of kindness (and because eating out was expensive). Dolemeck even managed to get time off of work as a barista and model to be able to go on this little adventure, so there was not a single loose end. Upon his arrival in Montana, Dolemeck waited for Argo's plane to arrive. After-all, he knew where they were going!

Moonlight Sonata @ 08:37 pm
dolemecknight:
Current Mood: calm
It had been almost a week since Dolemeck and Tyler had moved into their new apartment complex. Being as it was already furnished, they did not need to bring in any of the furniture from the old place, or do much decorating. But that did not stop Dolemeck from working on his own room. He had put up pictures of the people who mattered to him on the walls. His parents, his cousin Derek Woo, a picture of himself and Argo on a boat, and even a picture of himself and Tyler in Germany, with their tour guide Gerta. Just a she was about to put up another picture, there was a knock on the door of the apartment. He placed down the picture frame that was in his hands and went to go open the door.

Apartment Hunting @ 07:29 pm
dolemecknight:
Current Mood: cold
Tyler's apartment was a bit too small for two grown men. Dolemeck had been sleeping on the couch or floor (depending on how he felt) and the two often times complained of the lack of room. So once they had dealt with the Tryks that had recently popped up in the city, they decided it was time to go looking for a bigger place. Dolemeck had begun to dress more casual, wearing a wool coat with a black t-shirt underneath, a pair of tan cargo pants, and some black sneakers. This way he looked more "normal" when they went looking for a new place to live. Again, he came off as more calm and level headed as they looked at various ads in the paper and arranged to have look overs at some complexes. "Anything strike your fancy, yet?"

All Hallow's Eve @ 11:14 am
nextgen_holiday:
All Hallow's Eve, or Halloween as it has been come to be called, is a popular holiday with children and adults alike. It is a holiday that had its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain or Summer's End. Samhain celebrated the end of the "lighter half" of the year and the beginning of the "darker half". On this evening the barriers between this world and the Otherworld were believed to be thin and the spirits, good and bad, of the dead could pass through. The spirits of the family's ancestors were welcomed in while evil and bad spirits were warded off by the wearing of masks and costumes. The costumes and masks disguised one as a harmful spirit and avoided harm from others. It was also a harvest celebration and time to take stock of food stores for the winter. Livestock were slaughtered and the meat prepared for storage. It was the final harvest of the year and the crops were then stored for the winter. Celebrations included bonfires and tales of the family's ancestors. It was a celebration of the dead and of the harvest. Today we dress up in scary and not so scary costumes and masks and go door to door for candy or attend costume parties. It is a night for revelry, pranks and fun.

living_dhampir:
The area was known in certain underground circles as being one of Seattle's largest vampire population centers. The Patriarch had arranged for Greg to attain a scent from one of the vampires killed by the tryk. Now they were spread out, but not too far from each other, keeping in contact. Tyler himself was perched on a rooftop, allowing him to scan for suspicious movements.

Lost (After the events of Night Patrol) @ 11:31 pm
dolemecknight:
Dolemeck was about to walk back to Tyler's apartment when he stopped by the pet store. Since his talk with Vincent, he was thinking about buying a pet bird to keep around. But that would require talking to tyler first, as it was his place... and they were still looking for a larger place to live. Still dressed in his uniform, he looked next to him to find a sobbing child. His eyes went wide as he looked around, not finding anyone who was responding to this child's cries. Getting down on his knee, he tried to talk and console the little boy who was sobbing. "Are you okay, little one?" He asked in his accented voice. "Where is your Mum? Did she come with you to the pet store?" "I lost my Mommyyyyy!" The child sobbed more. "I don't know what a mum is, but I lost my Mommy!" This was going to be a long day.

"Ahhh..." Vincent let out a sigh normally reserved for after a good workout, or completion of a particularly challenging bit of spellwork. The Rare Book Division of the New York Public Library. A little island of ancient history, in a city that already pulsed with the energy of the past. He makes a lap of the room, gazing at the stacks, before he ascends the stairs to the second level. He'd make some token mention of the 'research' he was up to, to maintain protocol with the administrator, but it was a polite understanding for one of the Future Foundation's original class to come as they pleased. Key in his possession, he opens a case, gloved hand settling on a portfolio bearing the name "John James Audubon".

Oktoberfest! @ 10:31 pm
son_of_hercules:
There were various things that could capture Argo's attention. Beautiful women were one. A good fight was another. Good food was also on the list. And good drinks always were. So when a possible event occurred that promised to contain at least three things which promised to entertain him in some fashion, he knew he had to go. Argo was also not one to let an entertaining trip go without good company, and his "cousin" did need to get out more. A teammate of Dolemeck's had insisted on coming along as well, and Argo was fine with that. Argo had also decided that Vincent was far too uptight and also needed to come along to loosen up. It had not been difficult to convince Irina to take them to Munich. "Behold!" Argo declared to his companions. "Oktoberfest! Beer! Bratwurst! Beautiful tavern wenches! And other fine things, possibly not starting with the letter B!"

Night Patrol (open) @ 07:25 pm
dolemecknight:
Current Mood: anxious
It had been a few weeks since Dolemeck had ended up in Seattle. In that time, he lost someone, he found someone, he met new friends, got a new job, and he discovered a new purpose for himself. He agreed he would help Bram, Tyler, and their friends look for any supernatural beings. It was odd, but such a pact made him feel more at home than when he was in Manhattan by himself. This place, it made him feel welcome. He had finally been to a barber shop for the first time and had his hair cut much shorter (as Bram spoke of how having long hair would be one more thing an enemy could grab, and his managers at work were not happy with him having waist length hair). It was short in the back, and long in the front, going past his chin a little bit. It was odd how changing one's hair and location could make a man feel brand new. "I should have done this sooner." He whispered to himself as he shadow ported from one alley to the next. He was hellbent on finding the other two escaped demons from limbo who tried to drag him back there. But so far, he was unable to find them, or much of anything. Then again, most supernatural beings would not be stupid enough to make themselves so easy to find. But then again, what was he? As he thought more on this, Dolemeck shadow ported once more. He could find nothing, so he decided to look for a bar to go to for some fun.

A parent should never bury a child... @ 09:52 pm
nextgen_parent:
It took a few days after the Helicarrier crashed - a few days to drag the river, check the hospitals...Nikki Coulson was MIA, presumed dead. Sammy had seen her in the lower levels a minute before impact, they'd been over the area with every scrap of tech and every ounce of man power SHIELD could scrape up looking for signs of life, and found none. It had been a long time since Phil Coulson had been to the Helicarrier, and he didn't think it would be to try to recover his daughter's personal belongings. She had been a private woman, and the job....it had consumed her life for the last 10 years, there hadn't been anything else, Nikki had put every ounce of her time and energy into becoming a better agent - and now there was a hole in the ground with an empty coffin about to be put in it. Stoic as usual, Phil waited in the back of the small chapel in Norfolk to greet the mourners, to robotically thank them, tell them Nikki would appreciate that they were there before the quiet service was to begin.

Therapy Session #2 (before the Nightstalkers Plot) @ 11:04 pm
dolemecknight:
Dolemeck calmly sat on the large sofa of Dr. Samson's office. He appeared to be much happier than the last time he visited Dr. Samson. There were very little signs of stress in the cursed man as he began to talk. "I no longer fear myself." Dolemeck began to speak, that oddly regal accent of his slipping out at times. "Everything I thought that could happen if I did certain things did not happen. I did not turn into some demon, I did not destroy the world as it is still here, and knowing that none of those things happened is quite a relief!"

Next Stop.... Seattle? @ 11:32 am
dolemecknight:
Dolemeck was finally getting used to his life being somewhat normal. No longer was he afraid of himself or "sin". He was content with taking things in moderation and exploring all the possibilities there were in this new world. And that lead him to take chances he would not normally take. One of those chances happened to be taking a train ride across the country to visit his adoptive parents. Sure, he could have requested a private flight from the Atlas Foundation, but he wanted to see what a train was like. After-all, exploring new things was a good thing for him. The ride was uneventful. Dolemeck would have to switch trains in a few states, and when he did, he would send Nikki Coulson and Derek Woo a post card with news of his trip. He could have texted, but postcards were just so... whimsical to him. Right now, the train was pulling into Seattle, Washington. It was the last station in which he would have to switch trains. As he sat in his car on the train, Dolemeck was busy penning another letter to Nikki, when the lights started to flicker. This happened at times on the train, so there was nothing to worry about. Right? "Dolemeck..."The voice that called him was somewhat demonic in nature. It sounded like one of the many demons in limbo, but how could that be!? His own eyes started to glow red as he stood up and away from the table he was seated at. Despite the darkness of the train car he was in, he could see a few pairs of red eyes looking back at him. "Bloody hell..." he cursed under his breath, slowly reaching for his backpack in the overhead compartment. All of those bright rd eyes appeared to be focused on him. "It's not fair! You get to be happy! You get to live in this world! You are not suffering like us!" The voice hissed out. Other voices could be heard as well, but they were cackling madly. "It's time to come home, Dolemeck... it's time to suffer.""I AM home!" he shouted back, causing the demons to cackle more. He slung his backpack over his shoulders while his mind started to race. Everyone on this train was in danger because of these... things. If he stayed on board, they might start pulling innocent souls into limbo or just tear them apart. The best tactic he could think of was to get the demons off the train and chase him. From there, he might be able to get some space to be able to battle without casualties. Just as the demons lunged for him, Dolemeck shadow ported himself out of the train, and across the street from the tracks of Seattle. His shadow port caused the demons to lunge out of the window of the train car he was in. Thankfully, the train car did not derail, and all of the demons appeared to be focused on him. That was a good thing, right? Well, for everyone else it was! He needed to get more space between himself and the demons, to get them out of the public eye. The fact it was night helped, but Dolemeck did not wish to take any chances. So, he ran.

Return to Work @ 11:08 pm
dolemecknight:
Current Mood: chipper
Dolemeck returned from New Orleans after taking the time to finally explore his own sexuality. The woman he had met in the city decided it was best if the two just parted ways, as he lived too far away for her. It broke Dolemeck's heart, as that was the first person he was truly intimate with. But Argo told him there would always be other women and to keep his head up. Once back in New York City, he was once again in that empty apartment. His boss at the used bookstore called, offering his job back, so he decided to take it to give him something to do. And that is what he was doing now. Dressed in a white dress shirt, an apron with the book store's logo upon it, some black slacks, and some dress shoes, Dolemeck work at the counter of the store. He smiled and helped anyone who needed it. he even figured out how to work the register, now. Even how paper money worked. if only his cousin could see him now. He would be proud.

dolemecknight:
Current Mood: nervous
After their adventures in Amsterdam, Dolemeck returned home to discover his cousin Derek was leaving New York. He was going to go back to San Fransisco in order to train with his Father and learn to become a proper leader of the Agents of Atlas. While he was invited to go back with Derek, Dolemeck politely refused. He liked New York too much, and was worried about his parents smothering him once more. Though this decision came with a bit of heart ache. The condo he lived in with Derek now felt too big and too empty. He felt even more lonely than before and just well... lost. He had made contact with his VERY distant cousin, Argo, whom invited him for more merriment and fun in New Orleans for a few days. Dolemeck traveled to new Orleans, getting a posh hotel in the famous Garden District of the city, as he was frightened to go to the Champions HQ. Supposedly they had a demon hunter in their rankings, and he did not wish to be dragged back into limbo... or make anyone uncomfortable. For now, he waited for Argo to arrive at his hotel room. All while wondering if this was a good idea.

For he first time in his entire life (which let's face it, it's been one long, trippy life), Dolemeck was struck down by a pretty bad illness. He never whimpered or whined about his injuries, and at times appeared as though they never brought him pain. But this... this was a whole different beast! He felt hot, then cold. His body was sweaty, his forehead warm, and if he moved from his position in his bed he thought he was going to die. Everything ached, in the same way he ached when he was knocked off of his horse at a jousting event a thousand years earlier. What the hell was wrong with him?

Current Mood: curious
After all that has happened, and his first session with Doctor Samson, Dolemeck decided to do something he never thought he would do. He snuck out of the apartment he shared with Derek, and decided to go out and find somewhere happy to be. This world was so different, more different now than before his memories returned. But he had to try and make the best of it in some way. Find something that would not make him feel as though his new life was worth living. Having shadow ported about the city for a few hours, Dolemeck finally found some place to go that might bring him joy. After-all, everyone at this place appeared happy! "A night club..." he spoke softly as he stood outside of the building and looked at it. People were smiling and walking in to the large building, and they appeared to be smiling as they left. The music was loud enough he could hear it from the sidewalk. It was the sort of music Derek sometimes played in their apartment. Dressed in a white dress shirt that hid most of the bandages about his arms, black slacks, some dress shoes, and a black vest. His long black hair now was slightly past his shoulders, after some of it was cut off in Spain. Dolemeck made his way up to the line to get into the nightclub, and eventually given entry into it. "Let the merriment begin."

Dolemeck quietly walked about the new apartment he shared with Derek. His parents advised him to move in with his cousin to a bigger place, as they feared him being alone as he battled severe depression. With his arm and hands still bandaged up, Dolemeck looked out the window of their new home. He really had no drive to go out today, much less eat. He was starting to get skinny from his lack of an appetite and Derek was calling him on it. His green eyes looked over at Derek. He wondered if he was still mad at him for killing two goons and nearly killing another villain on their search for the swords. He decided against saying anything and just shoved his hands in his bathrobe. Just as he tried to sulk back into his bedroom, there was a loud knock at their front door. "I'll get it", Dolemeck spoke quietly as he walked towards the door and took a peek in the peep hole. He paled, even more than he already was at who it was. Dolemeck quickly opened their front door after removing the locks, and stared up at the person who stood before him. "Uncle Ken... what a... surprise?"

There was no such thing in his time, so he felt somewhat... awkward. Really awkward. "I do not know where to begin or even how this works." Derek was glad that with Atlas the way it was it was easy to get in and out of nations the way it was. Just a few hours previous (well, more than that, but not by much), they had been in New York City, deciphering something from medieval French in order to find the location of a sword thought to be lost for eternity. And now they were powering their way through Spain, heading just a few miles south of the Breach of Roland itself. It was really spooky just how close to history they got here. And now they were searching for something even more important historically. "Hey, Dole, about where on the map was the location again?"

Dolemeck was in awe at the sheer size of the museum before him. Never had he felt so small before! Now that he was properly dressed in a white dress shirt, black slacks, black work boots, and a black vest, Dolemeck looked over at Derek with a raised eyebrow. "Do we just march in, or do we have to buy tickets, first? I doubt they will take us seriously if we tell them that a crazed woman is after a priceless artifact."

All in all, this was boring but necessary. But at least Dolemeck was there to be supportive. And now that the big boring part was over, he had free time to inspect stuff. And talk with people, at least as best he could. So now he could be able to just take it easy.

Dolemeck was encouraged to take two weeks off of work from his boss, after suffering a gun shot to his shoulder. At the hospital he was told how lucky he was that the bullet did not sever an artery in his shoulder, and that he did not bleed out. He also was hit on a bit by a few nurses who saw him without a shirt on, much to his shock and discomfort. he was happy when he was discharged and told to get plenty of bed rest and keep the would clean and bandaged properly. As he would have issues with changing his own bandages, he agreed to stay with Derek in his apartment and be cared for until he no longer needed to bandage and clean his wounds. It had been a few days since he had been shot, and Derek had to explain to him about guns, bad people, and that Dolemeck should probably tell his parents what had happened. Dolemeck took these lessons to heart, but refused to call Bob and Venus up, feeling ashamed that he got hurt on his first day of work. "Derek, I do not know how to thank you for such kindness." Dolemeck smiled, hissing as he held on to his shoulder while laying down on the couch in his cousin's apartment. "But we must talk. I wish to talk about us becoming heroes. I feel as though this is our fate... that or what I am feeling is that medicine that the doctors prescribed for me for the pain."

Heroes Are Not Born... @ 11:58 pm
dolemecknight:
Dolemeck Night was fortunate, the first job he applied to accepted his application, and now he worked in a used bookstore in lower Manhattan. He tried to not abuse his shadow powers too much at work, or where others could see if he did. His fellow co-workers were a bit "snobby" to him at times, and if Derek saw them he would label them all as "hipsters" or spoiled rich kids. Tonight, the other two employees who were on duty decided to leave early. When Dolemeck asked why, he was told someone of his "class" could not understand, and that it would be his duty to close shop, tonight. While most would argue or cringe, he smiled. It was a big responsibility to close up the shop, and it could prove to his new boss that he was willing to work hard. Well, not just his boss, but his parents, Mac, and Derek as well. It was now ten o'clock at night and time to close shop. He shadow ported with today's earnings to the back of the store, placing it in a safe that was in the ground floor of the building. Once the money was secure, he shadow ported to the front of the store, going to change the store's sign from "open" to "closed". It had been a long day, but so far, it was a good one.

Derek was someone who liked having a family, even if it were one of the most unusual families out there (although he had heard the Summers family was even crazier, but he didn't know them except through reputation), but even with the weirdness of his family it never seemed to be overwhelming. But it could sometimes be overwhelming for him. So here he was, about to introduce a cousin to another cousin. Not that technically one cousin was actually an older nephew and the other an adopted demon form limbo who got a soul. But that's just a technicality. So here he was, knocking on Macs door with a good amount of takeout and waiting to hear from Dolemeck as to when he would be arriving.
