Morning in the City
He has Zoey up and dressed, the rest of this should be easy. Nice smile, lots of non-acting. He can do this. So when he barges into Syd's room with a huge kid grin on his face all of it is for real.

"Come on, Sydney! Up and Adam!"

There's movement under the blankets and a face eventually peeked over the edge of the covers. Was it morning already? It had taken forever to get Zoey to sleep with all the sugar she had been given and then Syd had laid awake thinking about what she overheard. Add a strange room to the mix and it didn't allow for much sleep.

She knew Daniel had made sure he talked to Simon within Syd's earshot.

"What time is it? Please tell me Ohu didn't get a lightsaber."

She pushed the covers back and sat up a little bit, not thinking that she was only in a tank top and underwear. She blinked and stared at the skates. "Ice skating?" Another blink. Okay, she should have expected something like this after the conversation last night, but she didn't think it would be this soon.

She shook off some of the sleep still clinging to her. "Where is Zoey?" Syd would have expected her daughter to have been bouncing on the bed by now.

"Jarvis is doing what he does, which means all you an eat waffles and polite conversation until you get ready." Nope, he's not going to notice there's no bra on and he can see a lot of breast in the cold morning air. Nope. Does not exist now. Maybe later it can in the privacy of his own room and thoughts, but not right now.

"Yes, this I've had planned for awhile. It took me about two months to find a free day for you." The bet is hanging over his head. Daniel wanted no kid, but Daniel can take his assessments to Yancy street and drop them off with the uncollected trash. "This is me showing you the city. After skating, there's the Met and if Zoey gives me the 'I'm bored' speech, I'll take her to the Statue of Liberty while you tour the Met."

She knew exactly why he was doing it and knew it wasn't planned, but it was still a sweet gesture. Play along or he'll know you know and overheard the conversation last night and then she wouldn't be able to even look at him.

"That's...it's really sweet of you, but you really don't have to make this much of an effort. I'm sure there's friends and teammates you'd like to catch up with." Give him a chance to back out of doing this for the bet.

	"Okay. I'll be down in five minutes," she said. It was easy to get ready when one didn't worry about makeup or all that other stuff. She'd humor him today. She'd hate to see him lose a bet and it wasn't like she had anything else planned for the day. There was a part of her that was curious about how he was going to be all day. 	Charitable of you Syd...considering the alternative involve Jedi Knight Ohu. Late that day, he holding her hand as they et on the ice. Zoey is, of course, a natural. Syd? Not so much. 	Syd wrapped her hands around the hot chocolate for warmth. How did people live in an area that got this cold? Zoey was the proof that she did have a little blemish on her past, but she didn't care.
