Powwow, Romanov Style
Text message sent Anya, James and David.

Meet at my place tomorrow around three, bring your fave movie. I'll order food & have drinks. Prepare to stay late.

Follow up text to David.

Let me know if you want to come. It's just us kids. I'll get you tonight & take you home the next morning.

Follow up text to Anya.

Don't have Eliza's #. Ask her. If she has Jack's # I'll give him a call if she doesn't want to call him. Let me know.

Text message to Mom.

I'm stealing them tomorrow for food & movies, & maybe plotting against our parents. Don't worry if you feel something weird in the air. It's just your loving offspring.

"In our family, you stand back for the redheads because they have their own ideas. For instance, I ordered food. Lots of food. It's coming. I have drinks. Snacks. Beer if you want. And the redhead still brings stuff."

He led the way through the living room, decorated to the mouldings in tasteful, expensive furnishings, to the inviting kitchen where the others were getting out the food and drinks. "If I didn't know better, I'd say she was a mutant for details."

Eliza makes an amused sound. "But you can never have enough food with lots of active teenagers around, Misha. I thought you'd know that."

She's seen how much her friends and her put away back home when they were feeling really peckish. She can only imagine what her siblings and the other family members can eat when they're in the mood for food.

Jack had an appetite himself, but he had to be careful with the way things tasted to him. "Our housekeeper is a great cook. She kept me and my friends fed whenever we were around. It wasn't easy at times."

"We have Jarvis and takeout for that," James said as he grabbed a packet of microwave popcorn and put it in the microwave. He ignored the look Anya gave him when he snatched it out of her hands.

"Some of us are still growing." James was. He had grown three inches in the past year alone.

David blinks feeling slightly out of touch with the group since he didn't grow up around that many people. He's not about to say anything about it though.

"Grandpa Ira used to cook all kinds of weird stuff. It was fun and all unless you made the mistake of asking what it was," he says seriously.

"So one of those things were it tasted good but you didn't want to know what it was?" Anya asked. She would eat just about anything put in front of her, but there were some things she didn't know what it actually was.

"Camping with Dad," Misha said with a wise nod. "If I had to ask what it was, I wasn't hungry enough. Learning to cook was in self-defense."

He opened the fridge and took out two beers, holding one up in offer to Jack.

"This is why I'm glad I'm a city girl. The only kind of roughing it I ever want to do is if it's to help someone out other wise? Too much effort," Eliza says while making a face.

"I like my indoor plumbing, thanks." But now she teases David with a light smile. "What? Did he make you go hunting and fishing?"

Jack shook his head. The yeast tasted horrible and the effect wasn't worth the trying to swallow it. "I'll take water, please. I, uh, taste too much and the flavor doesn't do much for me."

Anya grabbed a bottle of vodka from a cabinet and offered it to Jack. She also grabbed a glass for herself.

"Ugh camping. I made it a personal policy not to go anywhere without electricity and room service."

"It's not bad," David protests in a soft tone. "And I don't hunt. Never really liked it. Fishing is fun though."

Speaking of that David glances at James and Misha. "Grandpa wanted to know if you two wanted to come fly fishing with us. We do a little camping too. We've pretty munch done it every year."

Dad would also be getting an invitation.

James blinked. He hadn't been expecting an invitation from his brother's brother. "Um yeah. I've never been camping or fishing before."

"We'll be there." Misha told David. David's grandfather was a cool old guy with plenty of stories.

"You'll love it, James. Just don't bring anything that needs electricity. Anya did once, and I had her checking the trees for outlets for about ten minutes before she realized there weren't any."

He carefully did not mention that they were six and ten at the time...

Eliza blinks and snickers. She really does hope that Anya was little otherwise Anya would have a house plant in her room latter this week.

With a note to not plug it in.

"Hey! I was six at the time! I didn't know better and it was my first time camping!" She pouted.

"While you boys are roughing it, Eliza and I will live it up in style and shop. Live like civilized people." She stuck her tongue out at Misha.

Jack watched in amazement as Misha stuck his out in return. He took the vodka bottle Anya offered him and poured a small shot. It was quick to swallow, and the heat was welcome.

"Are your group meetings always like this?"

"Yeah, pretty much," David agrees with a low chuckle.

"We tease each other about everything." He glances at James and nods. "Yeah, Grandpa enjoys the company James."

Eliza glances around then offers a half grin. "Ever see Seven Samurai?"

For her it's an awesome classic. It's pretty violent but they're all old enough to appericate it without being grossed out.

"Go for it," Anya said as she opened a bag of chips and dumped them in a bowl. Anya had never seen it, but she was pretty easy going when it came to movies.

"I like martial arts movies," Jack said, reaching for a chip. "I haven't found a decent dojo yet and I'm afraid I might be getting rusty. Any recommendations?" If anybody knew of a place to practice that wouldn't raise any eyebrows at a not-quite-normal student, it had to be this group.
