X-Men
Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy.

Christmas Day is a Christian holiday, it's true, but it also has become increasingly secular. It is an opportunity for love, charity, and goodwill.

There is some debate within mystical circles if there is indeed such a creature as the embodiment of Christmas Giving known as Santa Claus. But whether or not there is such a being, the spirit of giving itself is very real, be it incarnated in a fat man in a red suit or not.

Throughout this small blue planet of Earth, people have brought trees into their homes, decorated them with lights and ornaments, and placed them in locations of honor. Stockings have been placed on the chimneys. And gifts have been placed under the tree.

Some are looking forward more to the receiving than the giving. But for many, it is the act of giving which warms them, which fills them with the holiday spirit.

Each person, in their own way, becomes a part of this spirit of giving. Each person, in their own way, becomes Santa Claus.

1407 Graymalkin Lane is well decorated, and snow covers the grounds. A massive tree stands in the mansion's living room, and ribbons or pine line stairwells or the walls. As for the X-Men themselves...

He's still not back to 100% from all the ritual took out of him, but definitely enough to kiss his girlfriend back, very, very thoroughly.

"Merry Christmas, Moira. I'm guessing you found your present?"

"Aye. Merry Christmas. Och, Lucas, it's such a wonderful idea." Her eyes are shining and she can't seem to stop touching his face.

Eventually, there's an immensely obviously faked frown. "Now mine looks beyond silly." Two weeks before, Danielle and Moira had managed to remember that bit of rectangular silver plastic Granny had given them. Hence the packages under the tree.

He presses his forehead against hers gently, looking into her eyes. "You could never look silly to me. I'm just glad you like it, and had hoped you didn't mind your sister coming along in the present. I wanted to get you something special."

"Course I dinna mind. And I can understand special being tricky when you're always doing one wonderful thing after another." She grins.

Eventually -- very eventually, she gets out of his lap and grabs a package from under the tree. "Go ahead and open yours now."

Inside is a waterproof, insulated, and just plain warm jacket of a particular variety.

Now its his turn to pounce her.
"I love it!"
He kisses her, hard.

"Och, good!"

They seem to have totally lucked out on the relative privacy thing, all this indoor kissing not really being their usual style.

He pulls the jacket on in between bouts of kissing. At least there's enough mistletoe around they have an excuse if they need it. "It fits perfectly too!"

"That's good, too. I thought I'd figured right." And perhaps slightly sneakily.
