Alpha Flight
Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy.

Christmas Day is a Christian holiday, it's true, but it also has become increasingly secular. It is an opportunity for love, charity, and goodwill.

There is some debate within mystical circles if there is indeed such a creature as the embodiment of Christmas Giving known as Santa Claus. But whether or not there is such a being, the spirit of giving itself is very real, be it incarnated in a fat man in a red suit or not.

Throughout this small blue planet of Earth, people have brought trees into their homes, decorated them with lights and ornaments, and placed them in locations of honor. Stockings have been placed on the chimneys. And gifts have been placed under the tree.

Some are looking forward more to the receiving than the giving. But for many, it is the act of giving which warms them, which fills them with the holiday spirit.

Each person, in their own way, becomes a part of this spirit of giving. Each person, in their own way, becomes Santa Claus.

Alpha Flight headquarters are fairly drab, but some lighting and decorations have been hung, and a tree sits in the common area. As for the team themselves...

"Bullshit!" The other man glares at him. "You would not be the first gay member of Alpha Flight."

He wipes his face like he was trying to get gum off it. "Yeah -" He swings his arm wildly. "Look at how much fun the press had with that one! Besides, Northstar wasn't exactly leading the team!"

"Don't sell me that line, Bryan!" Randy is still glaring. "You're not in the military anymore. They transferred you here. I'm out of the service so it's not like you're sneaking around with a non-com anymore. Enough of the Padme`-Anakin shit, babe. We're going to the office Christmas party like normal people. You -' He gets close and brushes lint off Bryan's tux. He voice softens. "Are going to bring real champaign, be social, and introduce me before you run off into the corner and read some more."

He sighs deeply. "I would, hon..."

He knows that tone. "You scoped it for wheelchair access and there is none." He sighs and wheels backwards towards the cabinet. There he pulls two bottles. "Endear yourself to them a little, all right?" He makes his fiancée` take them. "Don't be a jerk. You can be something else to these people. Human." He smirks on one side of his mouth. "Now go be social. Invite the Bochs brothers to come here and play X-Box or something. If we can't be at the base then they should be able to come here."

Now he feels like shit. It's just that if a villain attacked Randy would have a prayer in that base. Maybe when he gets things more organized. All he can do is nod and kiss him lightly on the lips. "Affirmative, sir." He mocks Randy softly. "Orders are to have some fun and not get a shoe shoved somewhere uncomfortable."

"And invite as many as you can handle over for X-Box. Playing you at first person shooters gets a little boring."

"'Cause you lose!" He laughs as he exits their house.
