I Could Have Danced All Night
The grand ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel on 57 East 57th street was festively decorated for the holidays. A series of lit candles on every table gave off warm light and the dulcet tones of a jazz ensemble filled the room.

People, the upper elite of New York society, Hollywood celebrities, musicians, politicians and New York’s own superheroes moved around the room. People sat at tables and talked, while some moved gracefully around the large dance floor.

Tables loaded with unwrapped and unopened toys lined one wall and at one end stood a very large decorated Christmas tree. Wrapped presents sat under the tree, but they were just empty boxes wrapped for decoration. Mistletoe hung from the ceiling near the tree and people stopped to kiss.

The air was light and the mood happy and festive.

"Oh don't worry about that. I'm perfectly good at causing my own problems." She grinned. Though for the most part her relationships with her family were good. Sure they argued and bickered like all families do, but in the end they did love each other and would always be there for each other.

With Steve, if they failed it wouldn't be because of her fling with Iason and the one with Halbjorn. It would be something stupid on her part or the Lady Mandarin stuff.

"That he has, he doesn't seem quite the same man dad always described. You've done well. I've been fairly well, and my collection is coming along nicely. I'm learning ballroom dance, but I'm still at a fairly elementary level. Access to the Avengers archives has also allowed me to begin studying both modern and ancient Wakandan and Symkarian. I've also found that cooking is a particularly pleasing hobby for at least two senses, so I'm working on adding more cultural variety. Any favorite dishes I can attempt while you're here?"

	"Oh, I'm sure it is. A lot of eternals have enough telepathy and capacity for it to be able to experience dreaming as mortals do or simulate it. Not one of my gifts, my telepathy is particularly weak among Eternals. I've studied it though, and it seems fascinating. "Ah, I wasn't sure how much secrecy there was around that. Yes, there was. It was... an interesting ritual. So it was a response to a similar ritual among the girls? Fascinating. And yes, a number of Earth languages make more sense. Greek and Latin were among my first languages, along with classical Shi'ar and an intergalactic trade tongue. English... was somewhat later. My cousin is a lot better at it. I still feel rather stiff trying to communicate."
