I Could Have Danced All Night
The grand ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel on 57 East 57th street was festively decorated for the holidays. A series of lit candles on every table gave off warm light and the dulcet tones of a jazz ensemble filled the room.

People, the upper elite of New York society, Hollywood celebrities, musicians, politicians and New York’s own superheroes moved around the room. People sat at tables and talked, while some moved gracefully around the large dance floor.

Tables loaded with unwrapped and unopened toys lined one wall and at one end stood a very large decorated Christmas tree. Wrapped presents sat under the tree, but they were just empty boxes wrapped for decoration. Mistletoe hung from the ceiling near the tree and people stopped to kiss.

The air was light and the mood happy and festive.

Natasha and Tony were late to the party. It could have had something to do with having to get dressed for a second time, but not one complaint would fall from her lips. In fact, the Widow was smiling. A rare sight indeed.

There was no announcement of their arrival, but people did stop and heads did turn when Tony and Tasha walked into the room. The usual troublemakers, including their children, were already here along with Ms. Donovan. Oh this was going to be an interesting night to say the least.

A quick kiss for her husband and Natasha went to check on her troublemakers. Tony headed off in the direction of Ms. Donovan. Natasha allowed herself a glass of champagne. It had been the first drop of alcohol she'd had since before the car bombing back in June.
