Gathering clues
Irina had always known her apartment in Moscow was small, but now with two people in it, it felt cramped instead of cozy. Not that she minded having Nicholas here. He was nice company, despite knowing there was a demon inside of him. That part was just a little weird, but weird seemed to be the ongoing theme lately.

She never expected someone to come out of a portal when she opened one, but Nicholas/Ghost Rider had and now they were trying to figure out what exactly was going on and how to battle a demon and a god. She had used all of her resources with the Winter Guard to find out as much as she could about Mephisto and Pluto.

Little was found except the traditional Greek myths and a few mentions relating to the Avengers. What exactly were Pluto and Mephisto up to? How could Nicholas and she stop them whatever their plans were?

"Yes, apparently there's been a number of dark magic rituals going on while I was gone. Things the demon would normally be buzzing about. Something called the Darkhold. Pluto has an agent, a powerful mortal sorceror, with part of the magical artifact. They have massive plans in the works, and something to do with dopplegangers."

"Hey, long as flattery keeps me in smokes, coffee, and a damn fine chef, I'm about as close to heaven as I'm likely to get any time soon. As for the dopplegangers, we don't. I mean, I can check and see if a person has a soul or not, but it takes close inspection, and something tells me a lot of people on the street might get a titch uncomfy with a punk kid staring into their souls, let alone a demon biker. So our options are limited... buuuut, gods and demons do have a rule or two they have to stick to."

"Well, yes and no. First, I'm safe. You can't possess the possessed or something, and the Rider is a hard act to duplicate. Otherwise, Pluto made a deal a long time ago, mostly around Hercules. He has no power over souls that have been to his realm and escaped, which isn't supposed to be possible. Likewise, their direct bloodlines should be safe. So if we can find Hercules, we know he's the real deal. Likewise, anyone else who has been to Hades and left alive and in one piece should be ok. Or failing that, their kids."
