Surprise!
It had been a very busy week, but things were finally ready for Steve’s party. Misha and Charlie had taken him out so they could decorate the mansion and get all the tables for food set up. Once the tables were set up, there were enough hands to get all the trays of food out on the tables in very little time.

Anya wouldn’t have asked Jarvis to cook so much, so it had been catered. Jarvis had insisted on making the cake though.

Hor'dourves consisted of cocktail shrimp, chicken satay, beef satay, peking dumplings, pigs in a blanket among a few. Pizzas, a wide selection of various Chinese food selections, chips, pretzels, Doritos, popcorn, cola, diet cola, root beer, Sprite, punch (unspiked), and cider (not hard) were also available for consumption. There was even a chocolate fountain with pieces of fruit available for dipping.

Brightly colored balloons and streamers filled the rec room along with a large banner saying ‘Happy Birthday Steve’. It was hanging over the tables. One table was set aside for gifts and many brightly colored packages filled the table.

Now all they had to do was wait for the birthday boy to arrive.

Sammy helped with the decorating and setting up, glad to lend a hand. With her poor gift giving skills, she activated her gift card-fu and left a birthday card with a gift card to Dave & Buster's on the table with the other gifts. If nothing else, Steve could spend some time with the guys getting loud and crazy.

She looked around for ways to be useful, but with everyone helping it wasn't an easy task.

Daniel hadn't known what to get Steve. It had taken him quite a while to come up with it but he had gotten Steve tickets to the Red Sox spring training. He had also snagged him a few tickets for Fenway. It left Daniel's wallet a little sad with him but it would be well worth it.

Natasha helped with the decorations and then retreated to the kitchen to camp out near the coffee pot.

Anya was obsessing about everything. Everything had to be perfect. She double checked all the decorations, the food, and the gifts. She kept checking her watch.

Clint was also getting coffee. "So," he said to 'tasha, "how 'bout them kids of ours. Steve coulda knocked my eyes out with a stick when he told me."

Natasha smiled. "Yeah. I think that was basically Tony's reaction as well. I'd have to say I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a little weird."

"Yeah," he said. "What with the ...y'know... and all..."

Awkwaaaard.

Natasha chuckled. "Yes. It is weird, but they're happy and they work well."

"They do," Clint agreed. "They're good for each other."

Natasha nodded. "They are. He helps keep her grounded and remind her to act like a normal teenager. Goodness knows she needs it." Anya was so much like her father.

"And she's trying to help him get some direction, other than "super-hero." Which is a dang good thing, you ask me."

"Anya believes everyone should have their lives all planned out and know exactly what to do." Natasha smiled. "She's a lot like her father. How are you doing? How's Bobbi?"

"We're good, 'tasha. I do a little freelance security consulting here and there, and Bobbi's a trainer at the SHIELD cadet academy."

He smiled. "Not exactly world-saving, but it's good work."

"It's good to hear that, Clint. Nothing wrong with honest work." She smiled fondly. "Look how far we've come."
