Rebuilding
Ezra Kane stood at the window and looked down into the lab below. There was a scientist standing behind him, but Kane would talk to him when he was ready. Not a moment earlier. He continued to watch the scientists and doctors moving around down below.
The attack on the former base had been unexpected and unfortunate. Most definitely a set back, but nothing that could not be regained. There were always bumps in the road, just some larger than others. While this one had been significant, it was by no means an end to the program. In fact, it had actually done some good. It forced him to look at the program and re prioritize his goals.
Now he turned to the scientist behind him.
"The vats are functioning and ready for use," the scientist reported.
Kane didn't smile, but he did nod once. "Good. Start the process."
"Of course, sir," the scientist answered and then left.
