Marie picked up on the fact that this guy knew she was an assassin. That wasn't something she planned on, but now her mind was racing to figure out a plan of attack. She wondered if there was any way to get her hands on one of his personal belongings, or maybe a nail or some hair. There were a lot of things she could use those for, even if he was a vampire.
She gave Jo a look. That wasn't about to help their situation at all. There were human on the first floor, and Marie doubted they were well equipped to kill every vampire around them right now.
Not only that, but she was sure walking in on the tail end of the Patriarch's conversation wasn't a coincidence. He wanted them to hear him make those threats to the Deputy-Mayor, so they could know what he was capable of if they tried something against him.
"This is not the time to make more enemies," Marie stated clearly. That was meant for everyone in the room to hear. "What is your 'immediate problem' and how does it affect us? Aside from the possibility that our friends missing is tied to it."
