Svalin and Hal were in the training room sparring, in other words beating the crap out of each other, when the world seemed to shift for a few moments. When the world righted itself, they found themselves standing outside near a forest. There was a loud roar in the distance.

The trip up the cliff was quick. There was motivation to getting to the top. Once they were at the top Svalin drew her sword and waited for Hal.

She shouldn't have waited. He's right behind her, and the second he reaches the top, he charges in ahead of her.

Svalin sighed. Her brother would never grasp the concept of strategy. While he went for the direct attack, Svalin went off to the right. Hal was a very good distraction.

The dragon came into sight and roared when it saw the attacking Asgardian. It took a deep breath and a spout of fire went right toward Hal.

Hal's primary contribution to strategy is, indeed, being a big distraction. Thankfully, Svalin has always been good at working around the idea.
Seeing the fire coming, Halbjorn swings the axe. He has no real finesse with its tricks - but knows all the stories of what Skurge could do with it. He opens a basic dimensional rift in front of himself, letting most of the fire pass into the void, a bit making it around the edges to singe his arms and face. The rift closes, and the charge resumes.

Svalin ran to the right trying to flank the dragon. He ignored the woman and concentrated on the man charging him. He breathed fire again.

Halbjorn ducks the worst of it, but still ends up with a black streak across one shoulder and down his back as he ducks with the momentum of swinging his axe.

Regardless, it should create a distraction for his sister.

Svalin climbed to a spot where she was looking down on the dragon. When the moment was ready, she took a running leap and landed on the dragon's back.

Halbjorn is already somewhat crisped, and takes some scratches, but he's clearly having a good time distracting the monster for his sister's ploy.

Svalin held on as best as she could. The dragon felt her weight and started moving to try to get her off. The man in front of him was forgotten about for now. Svalin tried to drive her sword into the dragon.

As soon as Svalin becomes the distraction, and he has room to really wind up, Halbjorn puts his weight and muscle behind a wide swing, trying to cleave into the dragon's ribcage.

The dragon roared as the axe dug deep into his chest. It roared again when the sword went into its back.

Halbjorn doesn't relent, ignoring the chance of retaliatory claws or a bite, pulling the axe free and swinging again.
