Time to test the work in progress
At Xavier's request, Logan called Natasha to let her know the professor was confident enough in the progress Misha had made to agree to test the young man in a controlled situation. For that, a member of Misha's family was necessary to provide the triggering event. Either Natasha or Anya would do, but Logan was certain Natasha would come herself.

"Anya, James and Eliza have been spending most of their time out at the Hydrobase." Not that Tasha blamed them. They were kids and needed to be around others their own age and Tony's ointment wasn't the best smelling stuff on the planet.

"Will you make blinis?" He hadn't had blinis in a long time and it was one thing other than octane coffee that Mom could do well.

She smiled. "If you want me to I'll make them." High octane coffee was a must in the household. Otherwise the natives got restless and very cranky.

Misha glanced at Logan and understood the look. Dad would never make it an order, but Misha needed to do this for his mother and that Logan always supported. Ordinarily Misha loved spending time with Mom. It was himself he was having trouble trusting, but if Mom could do it, he could give it a try as well.

"You name the weekend, Mom, and we'll be there."

"Why don't you come over this weekend?" Tony had been shutting himself away in the lab as of late leaving Natasha mostly to her own devices. With the kids at the Hydrobase, she got a little lonely. Though she had a sneaking suspicion that when the others found out Misha was staying over, they'd have a house full.

He nodded. "You got it, darlin'," he drawled in a Logan-esque way.

He looked down into his beer before continuing. "Will you make sure everyone there has tranqs? Just in case."

"I'll make sure even though I know we won't have to use them." Natasha also had to go grocery shopping to stock the place with his favorites. David's favorites as well.

Logan nodded approvingly. "Sounds like you two have a plan. I'll tell David he's been invited too."

"Please do," she said to Logan. "I know. I will make sure there are plenty on hand. Along with your favorite junkfood and movies."

"Is it a non-liquor weekend?" He asked the question without a hint of sarcasm. Mom's house, Mom's rules. If she'd rather he did without, it wasn't like he needed it.

"There's none in the house and we would prefer it stayed that way," she said carefully.

"It's your house, Mom," he said with a half smile. "Your rules. I'd be a poor guest to violate them. You and Dad taught me better."

He took the few steps over to kiss her on the top of the head. "You know what I mean, Mom. I've been meaning to ask, have you heard anything about Mikhail's engagement?"

"Nothing yet," she said. "I learned about it in the paper too. I suspect something will come soon and we may have to make an appearance in Moscow."

"I'm kind of surprised he didn't at least tell you before the media got it, but I guess that's life at the palace. When you get around to thinking about shopping for it, and I know you will, remember I have plenty of suits."

Logan couldn't help it. He chuckled to himself. Mikey hadn't inherited his mother's compulsion to buy new clothes. If he'd let him, Mikey would've spent his childhood in the same jeans and tee shirt.

Natasha rolled her eyes. One kid never wanted to shop and the other didn't want to stop shopping. Was there no middle ground?

"That was way earlier this year," she said. "Fashions change."

"Not for men. The tuxes will be fine." He was fighting a losing battle and he knew it. It wasn't like he had to be there for her to buy one or several. His last growth spurt was six years ago and she had his measurements memorized. "Would you at least take a look in my closets before you decide if I need something new?"

He opened his mouth to protest, thought better of it, and shut his mouth. She was diabolical and he'd just given her a reason to thin out his closets.

"Take pity on me when you do," he finally said. "The boxers hanging on by three threads are my favorites."

Natasha sighed. "Really? Would it hurt to get new ones and wear those?"
