Sammy 'went ahead' to see who the mission commander was waiting for them.. If the colonel wasn't trusting her with it, she assumed she'd find an older agent or even Dum Dum with his derby on and barking orders. That she could understand.

Buck Rogers, whom she had no problem acknowledging and respecting as fully capable, was not what she expected or understood. The colonel shuffling her aside was a blow to her efforts to prove herself to him and her team.

She'd take it up with the old man later, though. They had people to retrieve and she'd be damned if anybody would claim she hadn't followed orders to the letter.

Appearing near her seat, she gave Buck a nod and began her own double check of her equipment and mission facts.

Buck nods to Sammy as well. He's sure she has to be taking this rough. He knows the reasoning behind being given the lead - because one of Sammy's best friends is one of the ones missing. Thus, per SHIELD regs, they don't want someone with strong personal ties to a hostage making all the decisions. Even so, he knows she's capable, and that this should be her op under any reasonable circumstance.

He doesn't justify it or apologize. The best thing he can do, he's pretty sure, is just treat it professionally, and let things settle on their own. That, and focus on business.

"I'm still doing the review. They didn't tell me much over coms, til they could hand the paperwork to me. I'll run the brief on the plane, when everyone is geared up and settled in."

	She appreciated Buck's professionalism, but she'd come to expect that of him during her time with the Avengers. It also didn't hurt to have childhood memories of a not so perfect Buck either. "It's a good team, you'll have their full attention. We want our people back. And the colonel didn't forbid tearing the place down on the way out." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Sammy is certainly one of the people who knows how perfect he isn't. He can't pretend with her that he's a perfect boy scout. Well, her or Alice. And he's certainly not going to turn down her help on this one.

	The base was located high in the Alps. The buildings were nestled along the side of a mountain. The path leading up was narrow and treacherous, not to mention ice covered. There was a small helicopter landing pad on the roof of one building. (Reply to this)(Thread)

As they're arriving, Buck puts the dossiers away, looking to the team.

"Ok, so we have a hostage situation. We can't just hit the place, or we risk them putting guns on the hostages and making things worse for us. Alice and Nikki, you're with me. We're going to infiltrate the place. We're going to go radio silence, so no coms in or out. Nikki is coming to set bombs to give us some cover on the way out, Alice... I've done some infiltration ops with, so we know how the other works. Sammy, you've got lead of team 2. All calls at your discretion. Give us eight minutes to get past security and get in deep, then hit the front door with everything and give us a distraction - Alice and I will secure the hostages. We're relying on team 2 to pave us a road for the way out - then we're going to blow the whole thing when we're out the door."

Infiltration Team

He's trained in all sorts of things, but stealth and infiltration is definitely one of his strong points. Not to mention one of his favorite challenges. He takes it carefully, disabling the security systems, analyzing laser and camera scan patterns, waving his team forward or giving hand signals to Alice as needed to coordinate silently.

Every twenty yards, he gestures to support points and corners to indicate places to set plastiques while he and Alice work on the next security point.

A few sentries have to be taken out, which will limit their time. When someone misses a check in an alarm will go up. They need to find the prisoners before that happens, so the pace is as quick as possible while maintaining the necessary caution to not give away their position or set any security off.

Nikki had created an extra special little bundle for Hydra, a combination of explosives designed to burn long and hot, the raw energy of each explosion in the line feeding the next and the next. She trusted Buck and Alice to keep an eye out since her hands were full at the moment, dilligently setting one after the other and waiting for the cue to move forward to the next pilon.

Buck takes the lead, letting Alice cover him while Nikki sets the explosives. He deals with a couple more sentries - not much time left. Finally, into an elevator shaft, scaling down the cable once he's jammed the elevator to prevent more people getting to them - and to the detention level. He doesn't say a thing throughout, communicating with Alice via hand signs.

Almost there, but he's sure the prisoners will be under guard.

	Nikki set her explosives with almost cruel efficency - there'd be little hope to survive if anyone was left in the facility when it blew up. As soon as she reached the shaft she shouldered her bag, securing it into place before following Buck down, drawing her own weapon once they reached the bottom, for the opposition. 	Jack tries to make sure, at least, that as the impact of the punch severs the connections holding structure to ground and the front of the building nearly explodes, that the gravity effect is steering the shrapnel away from them, at least, mostly flying back and up.
