Two and a half weeks (Lena)
They had been working non-stop for two and a half weeks on the project and had made considerable progress. The notes Erskine's granddaughter had found were valuable and had helped them make the progress they had. Tim mused that if they had these notes decades ago they would have recreated the Super Soldier serum long before now.

Tim had been working for the past thirty six hours and needed a break. Maybe a quick nap and some caffeine. They would do the trick.

Lena was already hitting new blood caffeine levels. Sure the excitement of the project hadn't worn off, but excitement could only keep you awake so long. She'd been trying it all, coffee, energy drinks, caffeine pills, even tea. And she loathed tea.

"How you holding up Tim?"

"I could sleep for a week," he said. "So tired, but it's worth it."

"Oh for sure, the notes were better than I had dared hope. We're making great progress," she grinned.

"We are," he agreed. "I think we've managed to make more progress in the past two weeks than has been made in the past few decades."

"The notes were a big help in pointing us in the right direction. Though we're not too bad ourselves," she winked. "Another cup of coffee?"

Tim nodded. "The notes were a big help. Coffee would be great. I'm getting too much blood in my caffeine stream."

"I'm sure med would have our heads for the low blood content in our caffeine streams," she laughed and poured him a cup. "But science calls." Lena handed Tim his cup, who knew what number it was.

"Thank you," he said. "You're right, med would wonder what's wrong with us." He grinned. "Good thin they're not here."

"No problem," she smiled. "Good riddance. Don't need anyone picking apart my eating and sleeping habits while we're working on something this big."

"Exactly," he said. "If only we could work like this all of the time. Much better than have someone standing watching over us."

"I suspect the only reason they don't let us do that normally is that they fear their scientists will just drop like flies. I'm sure that's a load of rubbish," she chuckles, knowing they really did have the worst health habits when working.

Tim chuckled along with her. "Yeah. We know enough to eat real food once in awhile. We wouldn't drop like flies."

"Chemical stimulants aren't doing their full job, might as well supplement," she smiled. "Hate the weather though, seriously, what's wrong with a nice tropical place?" She goes to grab her winter gear, really the only reason she could tolerate this was because the project was so great.

"Because then we wouldn't be motivated to finish and go home," he said. "Besides, this is nice and invigorating. If I had time I'd do some skiing."

"No, but we're on the clock so we'll see if we're allowed a day. They're anal about that sort of thing for top secret stuff of course. You going to go outside like that Tim?" She was in full winter gear and waiting to see if he was done.
