Down by the Bay (well, Sound)
Jo spread out a blanket and took her sneakers off. Even if she could still feel the grass crunch underneath her weight, it was a stretch of unseasonable warmth, and the sun was shining. She was able to dress relatively lightly and get out to enjoy the day. Ferries in the distance, tourists and day-trippers milling about, and at least half a dozen restaurants' grease traps filling the air from the middle distance. She was still in need of a new violin bow, but there was no reason she couldn't get out and take it easy while working on some arrangements. She digs out her notepad and gets to work, humming to herself, the notes carrying on the breezes around her.
