Rock Climbing Weekend
Tim had promised Etoile they would go rock climbing and he wasn't one to break his promise. He gathered his gear and his suitcase. He met her at the airport and together they headed for Arizona. Once they touched down in Phoenix they climbed into a Jeep Wrangler and drove toward Canon de Chelly National Park where Spider Rock was waiting for them.

Tim pulled the Jeep into a small parking area and killed the engine.

	"Really," Tim said. He could explain Sammy, but he was trying to move on past her. She would never see him as anything but a brother and one could only beat their head against the wall so many times. "I guess I spend too much time in the lab for a girlfriend." He tilted his head. "Yeah, really!" Etoile said, leaning close to his face all serious."You seem like a really great guy. I figured you'd be...what does Nick call it -- "off the market"?"

Etoile waggles her finger at him."Tsk, tsk, Dugan. Less time in the lab. Live a little! I think you could get any girl you wanted, if you just put your mind to it." Etoile said, nodding her head all matter of fact."Moi?" She points at her self."Ehhh...no. I fell in love with somebody. But he basically turned me down...in a more around about way." Etoile sighs, looking down a bit she felt defeated and undateble.

Etoile blinked."You could have fooled me." She said, reaching over to poke at his nose tip."You seem to be doing fine with me. You even asked me to go away with you for the weekend, for rock climbing. I'd say, that's the right step in the right direction." Etoile replies with a smile.

"My fault really. Serves me right for falling for the first guy, telling me I'm cute and kissable." Etoile replies sighing once more."Not at all. I'm too socially awkward, not exactly smart in certain areas of life."

	He smiled when she poked his nose. "It's a shared interest," he said. "I can talk about those kinds of things, but just talking to a girl? Can't do it." Tim tapped the tip of her nose. "Oh, so, there is a loop hole for you," She said."I find it weird...we may have shared interests, but I'm still /a girl/ that your taking to. I count that as something. Riiight?"

She wiggled her nose when he tapped it, she smiled at him."And you said you can't talk to girls...look at you! All pro." She said, giving off a faint blush afterwards. She still had a hard time hearing the cute comment."You think so? I think I'm just nervous and over talk about stop things, or try to stress my point a little too much....annnd I'm doing it right now." Etoile pursed her lips together to silence herself for a moment.

She soon chimes in again,"No? What do you think I am? In your opinion..." She asked curiously.

	"I do. You are cute," he said now feeling awkward. He was good when it came to talking about things, but not about feelings or thoughts. He shrugged. "I guess if I can focus on an interest, talking to a girl doesn't seem so bad or so awkward." "You seem to be better at talking to people than I am. I don't see any social awkwardness." Etoile blushed, smiling at him warmly."Well..thanks, hehe." She said shyly. Still getting use to those words.

"No, it doesn't. If there is someone out there you like or beyond that. I think it doesn't hurt confessing. That person can either say; no or yes. At least you'll know you gave it your all, and wont wonder if you should have told this person or not." She says nodding her head.

"You think so? I think it's just nervous babble. I can go, on, on, on, and ooonnnn. Or maybe I'm just a babble mouth and don't know when to shut up. Like right now!" Etoile laughed at herself.
