The Great White North
A blizzard covered northern Canada in white, but it wasn't the only thing causing problems. Alpha Flight was correct when they mentioned that the Great Beasts were in fact more than one and usually showed up at the same time.

Tanaraq left a path of destruction in his wake as he made his way toward the more populous areas.

Not too far from Taranaq, Kolomaq left a similar path of destruction in his wake.

	Jordan trusts Moira to do her part and dodge and play defensive when Tanaraq tried to turn his attention to her - forcing him to keep splitting his attention and not be able to totally focus on one of them. When the Beast turns, Jordan lays into him, swinging hard kidney punches while he has an opening. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Indeed, getting shaken off and counterattacked by things that are bigger and denser than her halfbreed self is how Moira was brought up, so her reactions are pretty good

Don't get her wrong, the edge of a hand like that glancing off one's shoulder isn't fun, but it's a problem she's familiar with, and stays snarling on her feet, still dancing around the opposite side as Jordan's taking his hits to making turning on Jordan all the harder..

	And Mel gets into position and steadies herself, permeating the place just under the beast unnoticeably, starting -- just starting; she wants to give it a little time, to think the thoughts that will generate the most calm and, in fact, blase feelings possible. 	Now they just need to get him good and fighting mad, and get his adrenaline and battle rage up. Jordan goes for the cheap shots, knowing the beast won't even slow down or feel anything not aimed at the kidneys or solar plexus, trading blows for now. He'll feel this later, but he can create openings for Moira, and hold up for a while. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Jordan was prepared for this, having experienced Mel's powers before. He's calm, just focused, and prepared for the moment.

He takes the punch, even moving into it, willing to suffer the impact to get into position - trying to get his arms around Tanaraq's neck and apply a chokehold. If he can cut off the beast's air and just hold on, he hopes, combined with the calm, he can take some of the fight out of the creature.

Yeah, the next few minutes are going to hurt.

	Jordan isn't as strong as Tanaraq, and finds himself thrown off. Expected, at least somewhat. He waits for Moira to try and get Tanaraq's attention back, and goes right back to it - they need to keep him fighting and distracted and let Mel's power work its way in. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Tanaraq took a swing at Moira when she came close. He didn't want to feel the claws again. Jordan got a grip on his throat again. Taranaq tried to grab him again. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	This time, with Tanaraq facing Moira, Jordan has leverage. He wraps an arm around Tanaraq's neck, forearm to his throat, pressing in. He holds on tight, trying to not give anything easy to grab - hoping that the calm aura on the area will set in enough to slow down some of the adrenaline rush to make the incapacitation set in that much sooner. 	He just needs to hold on a bit longer. Jordan redoubles his efforts as Tanaraq gets a hold, trusting to the science of leverage and Mel's effect to help him.
