I Followed My Small Destiny With Valor
Svalin didn't sleep during the night as she never could sleep on the eve of battle. Instead she waited with armor and Vigfrior ready. This would be the toughest battle of her life so far and though she knew she'd lose, she wouldn't go down without putting up a fight. She didn't know when she would be whisked away, but she would be prepared for when it did happen.

One moment she was in the small bungalow she shared with her wife, son and Brandr and the next was at the base of Yggdrasil.

Brandr nods understandingly. "Aye, thine wife has a point. Little canst be accomplished by dwelling on that which we hath little control over." He gives her a smile and continues. "Mine father hath always been of the opinion life shouldst be enjoyed and not spent on brooding upon the bad. Mayhap thou needs more things to enjoy and focus on. Come, let's find the young lord. No boy shouldst be left without a chance to wield his new sword."

"Aye, mayhap," Svalin said. "Halbjorn doth say the same." They didn't understand. They hadn't seen what could be. It didn't haunt their dreams each time they slept. So much rested upon this and Solver being a force of good. There were times when Svalin felt like carried the weight of the Nine Worlds upon her shoulders.

Svalin forced a smile. "Aye, let us find Solver and go enjoy the warm sun."

No, he couldn't ever understand without having seen it. All he knew was that the things that did trouble him, were ones that he preferred not to dwell on, it didn't accomplish anything but ruin other things. "If enough of us say the same thing then mayhap it doth not be a terrible thing to try," he smiles.

"Aye. The winters in this place so far are strange, warm and sunny." Which meant most of the clothing he had was next to useless but that was fine, it was only his fur cloak he was attached to. "Doth real winter not come soon?"

"Mayhap," Svalin said. "There art places in Migard that doth get very cold in the winter. This ist not one of them."
