Fortune Favors the Bold
Night was settling over the city and in S.H.I.E.L.D. Central the night shift was just coming on duty and settling in for the night. It looked like it was going to be a rather quiet night. Just like last night, the one before that, the one before that and so on.

It was only with great reluctance that Steve released her.

With the alarms going off and what looked like guards starting to pour in from further down, they didn't have much time.

"Stand back. I need a little room."

He concentrated, and began to grow. It hurt like hell, as evidenced by the grimace on his face, the fact that his feet nearly slipped out from under him, but soon there was no would be swashbuckler that had come to save Anya, but a walking, talking, Goliath.

	Eliza was about to tell them to get a move on. They didn't have time to wait if they were really going to get out of here. Then she saw what was going on with Steve. Daniel had been waiting to do this. But when Steve says that he nearly bust out laughing. It was just so surreal to know that he was an Avenger now.

He tosses the sprouts and his eyes glow green faintly for a moment. "Green must grow where it takes root so meet these mighty shoots."

Dad always said people liked dramatic. Plus he was sure it hid the hand motions he made as the shoots landed on Cancer and started to grow and wrap around the armor to start binding the titian.

	The force field around Taurus protected him from the concussive blast and giant's punch, but the punch stopped him in his tracks. Gemini took a brief moment to survey the scene. He took on the powers of the big green girl. He grew in size and turned green. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Oh hell," Daniel mutters when he sees Gemini turn green. Then he gets thrown by Taurus' punch into a wall. Green vines swirl and rocks form around him like a shield and he jumps back up swinging a punch twisting with vines and sharp black rock. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Cancer launched two small rockets down the hall. When they explode the following explosion would be pretty substantial.

Taurus took the punch, relying on his forcefield to absorb the blow. He yelled in anger and could feel his strength increasing. He pulled a right back and hit the giant in the leg.

Gemini was thrown back from the hit and it HURT. He slammed into a wall and grunted. He yelled and charged the man who just hit him.

Emily hated trying to pick her way through fights light this - being so big and other people so small, with other big people picking their way through as well... so complicated, so much risk of squishing.

But, well, when there were missiles there were missiles. She threw herself out of the way of the rockets, letting them slam into the door she'd been working on and hunkering to shield the smaller people in the room from the blast. The vault door into the higher security holding - already compromised by a lot of Hulksmashing - just blew apart, but the shrapnel bounced off Emily for the most part.

She reared up with a grin, abandoing the now defeated vault door and launching herself at Gemini, running at first past him then grappling the Zodiacer around the neck and trying to take him down from behind.

"If you're gonna try on my skin at least have the courtesy of fighting ME!"

	Anya stayed low to the ground and tried to stay out of the fighting. No armor meant she was effectively out of the fight. However, the SHIELD guards had been carrying stun rifles. She tried to make her way to the closest guard. She was knocked down a few times from the concussive blasts, but she quickly climbed to her feet and kept moving. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Taurus' forcefield kept the punch from hitting him, but it still made him step back a few steps. He yelled and lashed out again.

Gemini did indeed close his eyes from the blast of heat and the next thing he knew he was being grabbed around the neck. One thing about copying these powers was the strength that came with them. He rammed an elbow back into the person who had grabbed him's gut.

Cancer launched another two small missiles after the first two. The first two exploded in balls of fire down the hall.
