Dinner with a friend
Svalin shouldn't have been surprised when Mr. Denning and Rory showed up out of the blue because Mr. Denning loved to see his grandson and Rory was usually with him. Svalin offered to watch Solver if Mr. Denning wanted to go out and spend some time with V, but he said he wanted to stay here and spend time with V and Solver. Rory asked Svalin if she wanted to go out to dinner and she accepted.

Now it was time to leave. She was dressed in a blouse, jeans and a pair of boots her wife insisted would make the outfit.

"Ist there anything thou wouldst like me to bring back?" she asked her wife and Brandr who were sitting in the small living room of the bungalow Svalin and V shared.

Since Brandr still hasn't asked rather than assume, Vernique ends up taking that in the wrong direction entirely, and bristles. "My dad, and by extension his operatives, make time for a family when they have one. Just because he isn't baby-crazy doesn't mean he won't do right by his own kids if ever has any." The defensiveness, obviously, is more on behalf of her father by associaitiotn, but she'd stick up for anybody in the face of overgeneralizations.

	Oh. Well that cleared up the confusion of this whole conversation. "Ah. I hath thought otherwise." Brief pause. "It ist good Lady Svalin hast found someone...on her level." Oh. Well he wasn't dense but...as much as he might flirt at times, and even though he was interested in the lady...there were duties to consider. She was his 'employer' as some might put it, and he hadn't yet determined if pursuing her would conflict with his duties or be inappropriate.

"She ist a formidable lady and any man would be lucky," he nods a little formally, not really knowing what to say for once. There wasn't a lack of interest but...duty could rear its head at the worst times.
