At the still point of destruction, at the center of the fury
Charles Xavier, head of the Xavier Institute of Higher Learning and mentor of the X-Men, had been busy in the recent days. Together with an old friend, Erik Lehnsherr, the two of them pushed the anti-human groups into action. Attacks on humans started happening all around New York City.

In Times Square the MLF appeared and started attacking the sea of people in the "Crossroads of the World". They also targeted the nearby Police and fire stations to hinder efforts to control the chaos they were creating.

Down on Wall Street the Brotherhood started attacking the bankers and investment brokers.

Leading the attacks on humans were Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr.

Mutants attacking humans prompted responses from anti-mutant groups such as the Friends of Humanity, the Church of Purity and other pro-human groups.

The streets of New York quickly became a battleground between humans and mutants.

"Neither are humans." He disappears into a shadow again, only to pop out of another one on the ground and grab a fleeing businessman. "Let's see you catch them all." He uses his shadows to appear at the top of a particularly tall building, standing in the shadow of a ledge, and tosses the man off.

Without waiting for Gabriel to spring into action he's back into the shadows and grabbing a woman to toss her off a building a few blocks down from a lower height.

And in response to that statement, Gabriel dawned the most unamused look he could muster. He inaudibly cursed, and flew into action. Luckily, Gabriel had a trick up his sleeve. He caught the business man first, of course. Then, as fast as he could, with the business man still in hand, he caught the woman just in time.

Lucky he was strong.

"...You bitch," he commented, obviously not speaking to either one of the people he was carrying. He set them down quickly, and flew up a little to keep an eye out for the next falling person.

	"And you're the humans' bitch," he shoots back and flits into his shadows again, catching another bystander and tossing them of a different building. "I'm only the bitch when I'm wasted, buddy," Gabriel shot back. He saw the other falling person and flew in for the save. Unfortunately, there was a second man falling above him after the first catch.

"This can't be what they meant when they sang about raining men."

It was time for a juggling act. While this new businessman fell, Gabriel tossed up the guy already in his right hand. While he caught the new man in his left hand, he formed a psychic dagger in his right hand and threw it up at Blindside. And, of course, he finished the juggling act by catching the non-businessman in his newly freed right hand.

He lowered the two men and safely let them off on the ground.

"C'mon, wimpy. Why not try the direct approach? Clearly this one isn't working."

	Blindside barely dodges the dagger, it skims him enough on the cheek to feel a painful buzz and realize that he really doesn't want that to hit him again. Once again he disappears into the shadows and appears standing on the side of a building, one that was in the shadow, along with a few others, of a much taller building. Blindside stands on the side of the building, defying gravity really, and lets Gabriel charge. It's only at last minute does he use the shadows to teleport away from the psychic katana...and directly behind the charging Gabriel. This was why he'd picked a building in the shadow of another.

Wasting no time, he grabs a wing and is about to put some of his boxing training to good use in a powerful headshot when Gabriella's orders to help out the X-men come through. Terrible timing, just when he was about to finally get to hit this one. Orders were orders though, so he keeps a hold of the wing and teleports both himself and Gabriel to where the electric xman was fighting a sentinel down the street.
