At the still point of destruction, at the center of the fury
Charles Xavier, head of the Xavier Institute of Higher Learning and mentor of the X-Men, had been busy in the recent days. Together with an old friend, Erik Lehnsherr, the two of them pushed the anti-human groups into action. Attacks on humans started happening all around New York City.

In Times Square the MLF appeared and started attacking the sea of people in the "Crossroads of the World". They also targeted the nearby Police and fire stations to hinder efforts to control the chaos they were creating.

Down on Wall Street the Brotherhood started attacking the bankers and investment brokers.

Leading the attacks on humans were Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr.

Mutants attacking humans prompted responses from anti-mutant groups such as the Friends of Humanity, the Church of Purity and other pro-human groups.

The streets of New York quickly became a battleground between humans and mutants.

	They'd left the Blackbird in Central Park. Giving the others instructions to disperse through the city and do what they could, Rachel looked to take down what Sentinels she could. Born aloft on wings of flaming psionic power, she fired a bolt of pure telekinetic force at the nearest one, not bothering to hold back like she would with a human foe. 	Jalisa was familiar with the X-Men and their powers. She immediately targeted the powerful psychic with her powers. Rachel would suddenly become severely disoriented and off balanced. Her perception of things would be altered. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The Sentinel wasn't an ordinary sentinel. These had some upgrades. A force shield went up and deflected most of Rachel's attack. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

For a moment, the disorientation threatens to knock her from the air, the world seeming to spin around her. But Rachel has an X-Man, and with the number of illusionists, hypnotists, and flat out reality warpers who wanted them dead, they'd practiced and drilled for this kind of thing practically since they were old enough to know there were people out there who wanted them dead.

She closed her eyes and reached out with her telepathic abilities. She kept a telekinetic bubble around herself, to shield off return fire from the Sentinel. And her mind found the one that had touched hers.

You like messing with people's perceptions...? She opened up her own telepathic listening, taking in all the different thoughts running through parts of the city right now, countless noisy voices, voices she knew how to push aside... but that would overwhelm anyone else.

	Jalisa's teammate Shard wasn't too far away and she knew the redhead was a psychic. Rachel's trick was redirected to the other psychic Kaila felt in the area. The winged blond. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Lyta, who had been attempting to take over the minds of some of the anti-mutant groups and get them to cease fire, was caught completely off-guard. Rachel's attack hit her on full-force. While she was normally very good at blocking out other people's thoughts and focusing on harnessing her own powers, the sheer force of Rachel's attack, and it being completely unexpected overwhelmed her mind, and she cried out in pain. She attempted to get her bearings, trying to focus enough and lash back at whoever attacked her, but she felt as if someone had set her mind fire.

	The hell? That should not have been possible. As far as Rachel had been aware, there was nothing out there capable of manipulating a person's psychic energies away from them. She pulled back, cementing her own shields in place. And as for the original threat, this time, she ripped up the ground beneath her, tossing her into the air. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"...Wait, what?" Rachel really didn't understand why some of the bad guys were now on their side. It didn't much matter in the end. TK was mind over matter. She got a grip on the Sentinel's hand and crushed. A grip she lost, when she felt something--telepathy, not quite as strong as her own natural power--hammer her mind. Lyta, what the hell?! 	The sentinel wasn't aware that it was under attack via Rachel's tk. The insides of the robot were being ripped apart and once enough damage was done the robot went still. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
