At the still point of destruction, at the center of the fury
Charles Xavier, head of the Xavier Institute of Higher Learning and mentor of the X-Men, had been busy in the recent days. Together with an old friend, Erik Lehnsherr, the two of them pushed the anti-human groups into action. Attacks on humans started happening all around New York City.

In Times Square the MLF appeared and started attacking the sea of people in the "Crossroads of the World". They also targeted the nearby Police and fire stations to hinder efforts to control the chaos they were creating.

Down on Wall Street the Brotherhood started attacking the bankers and investment brokers.

Leading the attacks on humans were Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr.

Mutants attacking humans prompted responses from anti-mutant groups such as the Friends of Humanity, the Church of Purity and other pro-human groups.

The streets of New York quickly became a battleground between humans and mutants.

If this guy didn't get the hell away from his party then he'd really blow. Time to set some surprises for the party-crasher. He holds onto a rock for a while then places it on the ground that separates them. The crowd between them would cover it. "What the hell are you doing defending these flatscans?! Get the hell out of my way." With that he starts throwing things, with no regard for the humans in between them. These aren't charged objects but they'll do to distract.

Sengai may have answered if not for the "flatscan" comment. He couldn't do anything about Rikki's mouth, but this one... Sengai locked in on the rock, pulling energy out of it and ran in the direction of the rock. He goes through the smoke and sees the civilians. Damn..this would require finesse. His eyes blaze with the energy absorbed from the rock and and a new whip emerges from his hands, but this one purposes slinks past the bystanders and heads toward Detonite.

He finds he can't make that rock explode, somehow this guy has sucked up the charge. No matter, he'd get him eventually. The whip goes right at him but is suddenly and violently reflected back when his kinetic shield jumps up. "If you're going to be on their side then you can die with them!" Anger mounting, his charged objects are getting more dangerous and now that they're closer, Detonite lashes out and launches another bit of debris to explode at his opponent's feet. Screw if anyone else got caught in the crossfire.

Sengai cursed, quickly moving to absorb as much energy as he could. He managed to absorb enough to save the people, but not enough to stop himself from getting hit by the explosion. He falls to the ground, hurt, but not too bad.

"My turn," he growled. Using the energy absorbed from the rock he sent out a construct of a hand right at Detonite's face to both startle him and obscure his vision.

	Lucas's kinetic shield manages to come up at last minute, but it doesn't reflect the full force of Sengai's attack and he goes flying back and hitting the ground. With a growl he takes a broken shard of glass and throws the charged projectile right in front of the fallen Sengai. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Sengai shoots a hand out to absorb the energy directed at him, but doesn't have enough time to avoid the glass, the shard going into his palm. Sengai screamed in pain, gritting his teeth to suppress the pain. He takes his other hand, channels the energy and sends out a glowing, head-zized fist at the downed Detonite. 	Detonite puts up a shield just in time and rolls to the side. But again, the shield only blocks so much and he doesn't roll away quite in time so the blow gets him enough to really hurt and rile him up. "Get. The. Hell. Out. Of. My. Way." The next bit of debris aimed, not at Sengai but right in front of him, is even more charged than any of the previous ones. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Sengai has to put the pain out of his mind. If he didn't this could end him. Sengai brings both hands out, he grts his teeth hard as the energy pulses through his wounded hand into his body. His body shook and smoked a bit from all the energy being brought into it. This was far more than he was used to. He managed to stand, his body shaking from the effort to control this.

"You. First." Sengai unleashes the full force the energy which manifests into the shape of a fierce tiger launching at Detonite. The energy's appearance was meant to startle his opponent long enough for it to hit with enough force to bring him down.

The tiger does shock him, but he's so angry and riled up that it's not enough to deter him from attack. With an angry roar he throws up a kinetic shield in front of him and charges forward, closing the distance between them. This way he'd get hit more but Sengai'd have a harder time blocking the last glass shard, charged and aimed at his head. Sink or swim time.

The tiger of pure energy meets the energy in a spectacular clash. At impact, both the green tiger and the shield shatter and burst into waves of energy that spread out and send everything within a 15 foot radius flying back. But despite his anger and shielding, Lucas still gets the brunt of the attack and goes flying through a glass store window and landing in a heap.

	Sengai went flying from the impact, straight onto the hood of a car. He groaned and managed to barely move into a sitting position. He was, as the Americans said it, fucked up. However, Sengai smirked a little at seeing his enemy in worse condition and the people nearby were safe. He leaned back a little on the hood. Not bad, not good, but definitely a victory. 	Sengai nods, then grits his teeth hard to keep from crying out. His father was a master of dealing pain, but also in dealing with it. Suvik passed this knowledge down to Sengai firsthand. Compared to that, this glass was nothing. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	While waiting, Simon pulls out his hearing aids and examines them to make sure they weren't damaged yet. He could fight without them, in fact in some ways it was easier, but with this chaos that might not be smart. (Reply to this)(Parent)
