Captain America, symbol of freedom and hero, had long fought terrorists such as Hydra, AIM and such groups as the Skeleton Crew. Today it was different. Today Captain America led a small group of Hydra soldiers into a missile silo in the mid-west. They quickly overcame the security forces stationed there and reached the control room. It wasn't long before the Hydra agents hacked into the computers and started the launch sequence. In a few moments the missile would launch and strike targets in Russia. The retaliation strikes from Russia would take care of targets in the United States.

It wasn't the only damage done by the symbol of America. He gave the Skeleton Crew and other hydra teams the blueprints and locations of other missile silos across the United States. They easily broke into the bases and started the launch sequences.

The world was on the brink of World War III and no one knew it.

Buck is going to have to see just how far he can take knowing all of Cap's moves and timing, and the guy not having any reason to know he would - because there's no question who the better fighter is. Buck will take every edge he can get for as long as he can.

Expecting the shield throw, he ducks, seemingly leaving himself wide open for the charge - activating his energy shield at the last second to try and catch Cap in the gut with the edge of it.

	The energy shield was unexpected but Cap is very adaptive in a fight. The shield catches him in the gut but he quick rolls off of it before catching his thrown shield on the rebound. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Damn, smart. Buck flips on the nightvision, looking for Cap's profile in the smoke. He fires off two stunners high, expecting Cap to hear them and block them, then flings a knockout gas diamond at Cap's feet. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Cap blocks the shots as expected. But doesn't notice the gas till he smells it. "You're too late," he says coughing before going down to one knee as the first nuke launches. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Buck has a gas mask for just such reasons. He bolts to the launch controls to shut it down before any more launch.

"We're the Avengers - and I'm the son of the real Captain America. You think I didn't have half-a-dozen plans for this?"

He calls into coms, while he's entering shutdown for the other missiles.

"Kal, make sure Toni has a clear run, we have a launch. Toni - shut it down."

No time to turn the shield back on and shift. This is going to hurt.

Buck shifts, blocking the console with his own body, slamming into it, the shield impacting his lower back. Still, he thinks he's managed to stop any more launches, even if he'll be icing his back and not wanting to move for a few days.

"You..." *wince* "Aren't fit to shine Captain America's boots."

"Nuclear missile base." Same voice, but the body language is different. Buck hasn't totally let his guard down - hand snaking towards another gas grenade - but he's not readily hostile either.
"Someone dressed as you, moved like you, fought like you... led HYDRA troops here. The Avengers are dealing with the launches. I've shut any others down and locked out any further input for now."
