All Hallow's Eve
All Hallow's Eve, or Halloween as it has been come to be called, is a popular holiday with children and adults alike. It is a holiday that had its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain or Summer's End. Samhain celebrated the end of the "lighter half" of the year and the beginning of the "darker half".

On this evening the barriers between this world and the Otherworld were believed to be thin and the spirits, good and bad, of the dead could pass through. The spirits of the family's ancestors were welcomed in while evil and bad spirits were warded off by the wearing of masks and costumes. The costumes and masks disguised one as a harmful spirit and avoided harm from others.

It was also a harvest celebration and time to take stock of food stores for the winter. Livestock were slaughtered and the meat prepared for storage. It was the final harvest of the year and the crops were then stored for the winter. Celebrations included bonfires and tales of the family's ancestors.

It was a celebration of the dead and of the harvest.

Today we dress up in scary and not so scary costumes and masks and go door to door for candy or attend costume parties. It is a night for revelry, pranks and fun.

	Val walked into the lab wearing sunglasses and a ref's black and white striped shirt and cap, carrying a red-and-white cane for the blind. "I bring pumpkin ale and vanilla vodka for Pumpkin Pies." "Hey Valini," Tim said with a big smile. "Drinks it is." He disappeared into the huge "cooling unit" and emerged with beers in his hand. "Raspberry for Lena. Stout for Josh and a raspberry for Valini," he said offering them to the respective people.

"By the way, the lightsaber is real." Yes, Tim was a huge geek. He had been working on that lightsaber since last Halloween.

	"Yes I am." Val turned to Josh with growing smirk over his uniform, holding up a red card. "And you sir, are not." Tim offered a beer and after a few fake aimless grasps, she took the offered bottle. "I would be disappointed if the lightsaber wasn't. Mm, thanks," she replied and toasted before drinking a little. Lena snickers in agreement. "She's right. That's a red card right there. You're lucky she isn't tucking that in those shorts."

She took the beer from Tim with a smile. "Straight from your personal stash. Thanks Tim. Do we get a demonstration of the lightsaber? And Val, I'm calling some of that vanilla vodka. I'll throw in letting the blind ref shoot a few rounds to get that."

Lena looked back at Val with a raised eyebrow and a 'well daaamn' expression. Then she winked. "Here, want to try the gun and-oops!" The gun just happened to shoot a few gumballs straight at the very tight ass on display. "Sorry Josh! Could you catch those? They're running away," she says with an innocent look then smirks and hands Val the gun and mouths 'easy target'.

Understanding Val's grin as 'Tim's next', Lena smiles innocently at Tim. "She's right. Always better to see it in action. Makes sure it's what the packaging said."

She wasn't the most social of the SHIELD agents, though she was trying. That's why she was there...and she wasn't what anyone would call creative....so all she'd done was dig in a supply closet until she found one of those generic "Hello! My name is" and filled in the blank space with "Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." and stuck it on her chest. It was the best she could do.

Josh almost had the little bastard before he felt the stings on his upturned butt.

"Ow! Dang it, Lena!" He sees the gumballs and reaches after them, causing the shorts to ride up a little tighter. "I'll get these but I'm not picking any more up!"

Tim started to set up the items for demonstration when Nikki and Brad came in. "I did," he said as he went in the cooler to get them some beers. He handed a raspberry to Nikki and an amber brew to Brad. "Happy Halloween!"

Val was focusing on drinking to keep from bursting into snickering at Lena's antics. Taking the gun, she popped one into the air to see if she could catch it in her mouth. She waved at in between Nikki and Brad as they joined the party. "Come join the fun! Timmy-Wan Kenobi is about to show us his laser-sword!"

He should be working on the Ghelinski files, not cavorting around, but somehow he got talked into it. This Halloween party, especially one in the labs, was one that was so very against regulation.

But, when in Rome...enjoy the savagery.

So Steve shows up, his normal suits in place with a bed sheet tied around his neck like a cape and a plastic Captain America shield on his arm.

"Uhh...hi? Sorry I'm late."

Tim wheeled a granite block into the middle of the lab. He noticed they had someone new. "Steve. Beer's in the cooler." He nodded toward the huge unit in the back of the lab.

"Okay. This is a granite block. Watch this." He pulled his lightsaber out and activated it. Then sliced through the granite block as if it were butter.
