Out on the town
David is out on the town. He had no after noon classes and wanted burgers and chili cheese fries. What more could a guy want?

Oh yeah also there was this new waitress who is just really cute. He thinks she's his age so he has been very shyly flirting with her every time he comes here. Honestly he thinks he's terrible with women but he can make her laugh and smile so that's good enough for him.

Now he is on his way back to his car. He is well fed and feeling pretty good. He tosses and catches his car keys in his hand the air changes just a bit though.

He can smell something on the wind. His good mood is shattered and he frowns just a bit. Something is up.

	If anything bothered Cait, it didn't show. She focused on the job at hand. She tore down the shield and formed ice around Hayes' legs, hoping to keep him in one place until they could deal with him. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Because you've been taught not to, isn't that right? Xavier's purpose is teach moral use of your powers. You won't go against that," Hayes answered matter-of-factly.

"Dealing with me, boy!?" Hayes said angrily in response to Vlad. "I have important work to do! I'm ending this damn farce of a gene war!.

He notes the ice forms, snarls, and then slams his fist into the ice, shattering them utterly. He throws off his lab coat, revealing a mangled body of various inhuman patches of skin. "Mutants and your delusions of being a species..humans and their ridiculous fears..you took everything from me and I'll see both of you buried!" His arms literally open up as tendrils shoot out toward the X-Men, going for their arms and throats.

Dammit. Why did she have to be such a good person?

Strip the flesh from his bones! Turn his mind to cinders! Cast his consciousness across the depths of the cosmos, never to return!

She pushed that thought down, deep down, not even trusting that it was truly hers.

"We need to get David out of here!" she yelled. She pointed, unleashing a TK force bolt at Hayes.

	David gurgles when Hayes attacks. He is too weak to fight right now. He just knows deep in his bones he isn't the only one that they need to get away from here. But he hurts too much to say what he knows right now. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Important work that involves kidnapping and doing who-knows-what to David? No, we're the ones ending this," he growled with just as much anger and picks up one of the beaten brutes, tossing it straight at Hayes and his tendrils. If it doesn't hit that mudak then at last it'll keep some of those tendrils occupied. Some of course, since he grabs one that goes towards his throat and gives it a mighty tug.

	It was a reflexive action. Cait grabbed water and sent it flying toward Hayes, the edges becoming hard and aiming right for the tentacles to slice them in two. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Hayes is driven back by Rachel's TK-bolt, but he's heavier than he looks. Vlad encounters the same problem when he tries to tug on his tendrils, as Hayes dug in and actually started pulling Vlad towards him, his mangled right eye starting to glow. However, before Hayes could finish, Cait's sliced the tentacles, freeing up Vlad for the moment.

Hayes screams and the eye turns pitch-red and a tremendous force of energy erupts from it, blanketing the room.

Hayes was so focused on destroying the mutants in front of him that he hadn't noticed Rachel's attack on the ceiling. Vlad was taking the brunt of the assault, keeping the beam from going too far past him, and what little did was blocked by Cait's shield.

"I'll kill you and use your remains to build a new generation of..!" Then he noticed the ceiling! "Damn you!" He turned, his beam catches some of the debris before it fell on him en masse, burying him under rubble.

	Vlad looks at each of them to make sure they're fine. His shirt is completely gone and nearly all metal from the waist up, and mostly metal everywhere else. But unharmed, powers helped with that. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

David groans slowly. Being up on his feet is difficult right now.

"Can.... do we have a ride? I need to go to the med lab. Need to see Doc McCoy." Cait will get passed his car keys though. He still has those somehow. Roberts luck. His Mom had never ever misplaced her keys.

"Cait, when you can would you move my car back to the school? I ain't gonna be driving for a while." He has a feeling Dad and Misha will both be firm on him staying on the grounds for a while. He won't feel up for leaving as his eye is gone. He is trying so hard to not start freaking out even more than he is mentally. If he can focus on stuff like his car he won't completely go nuts he hopes.
