Out on the town
David is out on the town. He had no after noon classes and wanted burgers and chili cheese fries. What more could a guy want?

Oh yeah also there was this new waitress who is just really cute. He thinks she's his age so he has been very shyly flirting with her every time he comes here. Honestly he thinks he's terrible with women but he can make her laugh and smile so that's good enough for him.

Now he is on his way back to his car. He is well fed and feeling pretty good. He tosses and catches his car keys in his hand the air changes just a bit though.

He can smell something on the wind. His good mood is shattered and he frowns just a bit. Something is up.

	He couldn't dodge all of them. His healing factor tries to keep him up on his feet as long as he can. Only two of the darts got all the way through his jacket anyways. He punches one of the men hard in the face. He's a bit pissed off about this because if he tries driving off? He knows they'll make him crash. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He was supposed to be able to dodge this. On a good day he should be able to match this guy. But the drugs have his knee wobble so he can't quite dodge it. The kick feels hard too. Vlad gets out of the car and casually strolls towards the diner. He remembered David mentioning the place and it had certainly sounded good. Chili cheese fries, burgers and cute waitresses? Though he wouldn't flirt with said waitress, he just wanted to see who David had been talking about.

He's part of way there when he sees the masked men and the van. They seem to be taking someone away. If he was a classic superhero this would be the shirt ripping moment just before flying at the bad guys. As it is he just charges over. "Hey!"

	"Target acquired," confirmed the man on the roof. He saw Vlad heading for the van. "Kid gloves are off. Neutralize and depart." The U-Men on the street discarded the tranqulizer guns and opened fire on Vlad with live ammunition. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Gunfire? This was more serious than he thought. He charges forward through the bullets as they rip through his clothes and skin then bounce off. He's midway through the jerky charge, the bullets may not hurt him but their force could still push him back a bit, when he sees that their victim isn't just anyone, it's David.

Oh now it was personal. No kidnapping X-men while he was around. Going to grab the nearest throwable thing, Vlad hefts a very full dumpster over his head and with a shout throws it at the attackers and their van. Though he doesn't aim at the ones near David. Crushing friends under garbage was a big no.

	Well the new guy might be an issue. He doesn't hesitate, just puts more strength into his legs and picks up speed. When he gets quite close, he pushes off as if boosting himself into flight. Except this is aimed at a much lower angle and he goes speeding towards the bigger opponent like a missile, ready to rip through. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Vlad crashed into the big man, sending them plowing into a nearby building. The man was disoriented, but tried to counteract with fists flung at Vlad. Meanwhile the van takes off. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The fists do hit. But while it looks like they're doing damage as his skin rips away, there isn't any pain associated with it. Seeing the van take off, Vlad scrambles to his feet, managing to get away from the hits, and grabs his disoriented opponent, hefting him above his head.

Got to aim this well. With a shout of frustration he tries tossing the giant man at the runaway van.

	Vlad's trajectory was right, in fact the soldier likely would have hit, but suddenly the van tore out with speed uncommon to a vehicle of that type. So instead of hitting the van, the big man flopped onto the street. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Vlad can only stare as the van rips away. That should have hit! Why hadn't it...?

"David's in there!" He points urgently to where the van was and takes off at a run in that direction, towards where the big man had flopped uselessly. Why couldn't that have hit the damn van? "Don't know what happened, I came and they were putting him in the van," he shouts his explanation back to them while on the run.

People seemed to forget that super strength wasn't just upper body strength and that it included all the muscles. Which meant that, since he didn't weigh any more than what was expected of his height and build, Vlad was quite fast.

Just really not fast enough against a van that was going at unusual speeds. So he makes do with tossing whatever he can at the escaping van. But the darn thing is still pulling away.

	Vlad tried, but none of the objects quite reached the van. Strangely even Rachel's telepathic bursts seemed to collide with..something, not hindering the van's movement. It turned around a corner, and suddenly vanished. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
