Movie Night, Aliens and Big Green Men
Movies and curled up on the couch with her daughter was a great way to spend a Saturday night in Syd's book. Dinner for Syd and Zoey consisted of pizza (cheese of course) and soda (it was a treat since they hadn't had movie night in awhile) and a huge bowl of popcorn with lots of extra butter on it.

Movie night started with Beauty and the Beast, which was Zoey's all time favorite movie, and moved on to Monsters vs. Aliens. Syd hadn't the chance to take Zoey to see it in the theater, so as soon as it came out on DVD she purchased it and they planned a movie night. It was a cute movie and Syd had the feeling they would be watching it many times in the near future since Zoey enjoyed it so much.

It was just a little past nine pm and Zoey was asleep next to Syd. Syd looked down at her daughter and smiled. Cuddling with her daughter was always a good thing. Syd was dozing as Independence Day just started.

As the dark shapes get closer they turn into tanks. They slow when they approach because they were expecting someone large and green.

Aridis had started to jog to meet her brother and sister up ahead. he had so far not complained of the sun or heat nor had she mentioned it.

She paused and took a long look at the tanks. She gave it a puzzled look. "What art these things? They be most strange."

Asleif eventually caught up with the others and regarded the tanks for a moment with her usual cold gaze.

"Mechanical contrivances. They have the look of mortal war chariots."

"They art called tanks," Svlain said with certainty. She had been spending her free time in the library and using a thing called a computer to ready about mortal warfare and tactics. The tactics part interested her to no end and she wanted to read and learn as much as she could. "Most formidable."

"They doth not look so powerful to me. Made only of Midgard steel. But if these art mortal war machines, then surely this ist sign the invasion ist on." He waves towards the tanks and shouts, "Ho, mortals. Wherefore art the alien invaders? Art thou on this hunt as well?"
