Silence is golden, duct tape is silver
When they returned from Canada, Misha didn’t go back to the penthouse in the city. Dad insisted on taking both boys back to Xavier’s, something about SHIELD and how it wasn’t safe to wander the city with the head office going insane, but it hardly registered. Doc McCoy checked them over, but there was nothing to bandage. His brain was still a scrambled mess thanks to the Weapon X drug cocktail and the killing of Tessa Reece. Combined with the damage Red Room had done, one had nearly put him in a coma. The other only unhinged him.

In the days since the rescue, Misha kept to himself and away from the others. He needed to think, but his mind was a mishmash of images, some real, some not so real. Some kept him from sleeping while others only became clear when he managed to shut his eyes. Always the voice in his head calling him "bear cub" in that smug accent. The command to carry out his primary mission.

His primary mission would kill him, one way or another.

"And what will you do?" Misha is a sore spot for Tasha. As much as she loves her eldest, no one can send her on the guilt wagon more then her son can.

"What can I do besides stay away and keep Anya and Eliza away? We could be the trigger that sets him off." Natasha shrugged. "When Xavier thinks he's ready, I'll visit and see if he's better."

No platitudes. He's lousy with them. A "sorry" would undercut what his whole family fights for every day. Instead, he offers. "Want some tea to go with that bath? I had some lemons delivered."

Now a real smile comes. When he's not being a bastard Tony was a very thoughtful and caring man. He just liked playing the bastard more often than not.

"I'd love some. But how about if I meet you in the kitchen? I'm just about water logged."

He relaxes ever so slightly. Maybe he's not screwing up this "commitment" thing. "It will be ready by the time you dry off."

He's leering now. "Now, Black Widow...Your evil scheme this week isn't to rust Iron Man to death now, is it?"

A shiver raced down her spine at that look. "Why Mr. Stark, you should know by now that I'm always out to kill capitalists. You are the worst of them."

The stare intensifies. "I can think of worse ways to die - and if I'm the worst at something, I can always be the best at something else."

More shivers. It was always amazing how turned on a person could get from a simple look. Had it really been almost five months?

Glimpses of the Tony she knew were reassuring. Her husband was getting better. "Oh but you are."

....

...

She sure as hell won that round.

"I guess you'll just have to force whatever this secret talent is out of me using enhanced interrogation."

"I love it when you offer me a good time." It was her time to leer at bit.

"All work no play...you know..." Her cat moves have his complete, undivided attention thankyouverymuch.

"Makes Anthony Stark a dull boy?" she finished as she slowly stood up. She had his attention and wasn't about to let it go.

"Know of any way to help me relax?" She bit her lower lip. She may just need a cold shower soon.

"Be a dear and hand me a towel?"

He holds one out for a moment, and then drops it the second it's in reach.

That move had been expected. The second her husband stopped being a bastard was the moment when Natasha would start to worry. She took that move as a good sign.

She stepped out of the bathtub, heedless of the water pooling on the floor. "I have a problem. I don't have a towel to dry off with."

Dear God, did they need the distraction.

"Doesn't look like a problem from here," he comments innocently.

Oh she loved these kind of games. Spy-related ones not so much anymore.

"Do you have another method for drying off?"

Ben Franklin was slightly off in his calculations. Beer isn't the proof God loves men and wants them to be happy. Cold air and breasts are.

"Air's good." He gulps ever so slightly.

A slow smile stretched her mouth. "I suppose it is. Guess I'll just have walk around naked then. Unless of course there's another method of drying off."

Okay, he's mean, but there's a few little tricks in the condo he hasn't shown Tasha. One of them is that the floors tilt. After doing a little physics in his head one of the tiles springs Tasha, hopefully into his lap.

It was a rare occasion where the Widow is caught off guard and this was one of those rare times. She stumbled forward and indeed does land in his lap.

Her arms wrapped around his neck and she smiled. "Hi."

The sales guy marketed this as a "racing chair." Let's discover if there is truth in advertising.
