Wedding March to a War Drum (Kael, Aridis, Iona, Asleif, Hal)
The Hulk and Algrim were taking care of each other and were gone from Asgard. The threat that loomed over the city and her inhabitants was almost gone. The city was still on guard against Frost Giants and other enemies of Asgard, but for now they had a short respite.

It was time to see to the wounded and repair what they could before the next attack came. It was also time to celebrate a marriage. Alfveror had petition Lady Frigga for her permission to have the wedding and the Goddess of Marriage had agreed.

Despite the hard times they had just face and most of Asgard's warriors sporting injuries and quite a few dead, the city had a festive air about it.

Svalin had left to find her wife and son as soon as she got Hal back to the city and had gotten him medical attention. Her sister would see to Asgard as a queen's duty.

The wedding was about to start.

Vernique hadn't been getting nearly as much rest as a human normally acquired. Which hadn't helped assuaged the emotional train wreck. Marlow was the only one who even remotely seemed to understand and share her priorities, and while Vernique liked Marlow, she knew when the girl was the one showing you the most basic empathy, something was pretty odd.

Vernique didn't know how much Solver must have been handed off or... something to make the trail so hard. Crazy faerie stuff, she assumed. But there was no giving up.

And then Svalin was there. "Oh. hi, hon," she said flatly.

Marlow couldn't have begun to explain why she was so set on recovering Solver. A professional might have labeled her with abandonment issues, but she wouldn't have understood why or even agreed with it. All she knew was that Solver was in the hands of Bad People, and they had to get him back and make the Bad People hurt. She could sleep when they got him back.

The lack of sleep and emotional state made control over magic more challenging and lethal. Un-Marlow-like.

Svalin's appearance got a glare and no greeting. She returned to her efforts to keeping track of the spell sent out to find Solver.

Svalin just nodded to her wife. Judging by the tone of her wife's voice it was probably best not to say anything. She nodded to Marlow.

"Canst thou tell if we art close?" she asked.

Marlow looked at Vernique first before she answered. "Whoever has him is really strong but they can't or won't cut me off completely. It might be a trap."

"Elves are good at traps. Who knows. Don't see what we can do different. Anybody talk to Aslief or Alverbastard and find out what the heck's going on yet?"

"Of course it ist a trap," Svalin said. "I wouldst do the same. The way to deal with traps and ambushes ist to rush in and spring them."

Svalin shook her head. "Nay. We hath not seen Asleif, but Alfveror doth accuse her of being a traitor to Asgard." It turned her stomach to think her sister was a traitor.

Suddenly it felt like reality had lurched sideways and a moment later the spell holding them in the fae realm disintegrated. They were standing in the corresponding spot in the real Asgard.

"What wast that?"

Kael turned at the sudden voice.

"Lady Svalin? Lady vernique!?" He ran over to where the three women seemingly appeared. "We know where Solver is!"

Asleif moved to keep up, though it must be noted, she did not run.

"We must make haste. There is precious little time remaining. Sutur has him."

"I'm just fine with haste, but if you were playing double secret agent, Aslief, you've got to tell people when you're doing that stuff."

"Mine sister, doubtless, had her reasons." says a very tired looking Halbjorn, dragging a bit behind Svalin. "Buut aye, haste now, and let us see what trickery this ist."

"Aye. I art sure she didst. It was pleasing to see her put that farce to an end," Aridis says trying to keep level headed.

Svalin drew her sword at the surprise arrival. She recognized all of them, but her sword didn't lower. "If not for mine son being held by Surtur, sister, thou wouldst have explaining to do. We must tarry no longer. Take us to Muspelheim."

She had her own score to settle in this deception...and she wouldn't object if that involved the spilling of blood. "We will find the Prince...and all traitors will be punished. Severely." Hell hath no fury....

"Aridis, I truly could not care less how you enjoyed any farce-ending that's been happening lately." What? Why were there even farces happening? Had people had time for everything but Solver? "But yes, let's get on with it."

"Explanations wilst come in their due time," Asleif said, her tone slightly cold but largely and carefully neutral.

"Mine power alone couldst take us there... but t'would be... ill-advised to do so. If we art to have any chance of entering without notice, I wilt need Marlow's magics to supplement mine own."

Silent and in the background, Marlow was still suspicious about what was happening. That Aslief referred to her by name for the first time in their association didn't lessen the suspicion.

"What do you want me to do?" she asked. Her agreement wouldn't be forthcoming until she heard the plan and heard Vernique agree that it was a good idea. Vernique was the only one making sense to her.

"And as much as I agree with you sister.... This ist Surtur. Is there a position we can take where we can most easily get Solver back? He ist...He has the power to fight the All Father to a stand still. We must be swift. We must be smart. We must get Solver away from him."

That is all Aridis can say on the matter.
