What's My Purpose? (Open to Genoshans)
Sengai sat in the Genoshan Embassy library. He looked like he was reading, but it would be a misleading conclusion. His mind was on a lot of things, none of which pertained to the book in his hand. What was he really doing here? Was this all really so his father could pay back some old debt? What did he have in common with these people. He did not share their beliefs. He was not Genoshan. He was older than all of them. For a time he had found purpose as Charlotte's bodyguard, until Andrew seemed to fill that role in an unofficial capacity. Now he found himself aimless. What good was he really doing?

	He just raises an eyebrow at that. "Everything alright? You've been down lately." Sure he might spend most of his time in his office doing work but it didn't mean he hadn't noticed the change in Sengai. He has to concentrate to fully hear everything but gets the message. "Hmm, in the 'is it worth it' or 'what's my purpose' sort of way? Because everyone seems to value you here." He's curious as to what has Sengai thinking about these things. Simon knew that as the new guy he expected to feel a little left out but Sengai seemed, to him at least, to be an integral part of this venture.

I was originally snet here to both learn to control my powers better and to repay a debt my father owes Magneto through service to his family. He nods along to what he hears. "Ah, so you've repaid the debt, done the bodyguard to Charlotte thing although I don't know what's up with that whole thing now, and Andrew doesn't really need one. But you're still here," he points out. "So I guess it means that you want to stick around?" Simon doesn't know the other man too well but he'd always been polite and welcoming to him and it'd be a loss if he left.

There's a self-deprecating smirk here, "Little in common? Look who you're talking to. We're the only non-Genoshans here you know. Sure I have the papers and all but I can tell I won't ever really be one of them unless I grew up there. They try, I'll admit that, but you can always tell." He doesn't point out the deafness issue, which would be admitting to not having heard all of what he's said in this conversation, but he knows what it's like to not have anything in common with people, even other mutants.

	"Guess that means we're both outsiders," he shrugs. "Yes you're not like them but we do have things in common. We're all mutants who have been, and are rather sick of, being prosecuted." "Yes, I suppose it is. If you're different it's a problem. Being a mutant just meant people disliked me because of that instead of because of disability. Do I think there's ever going to be no human-mutant conflict at one point? No. But it doesn't mean it can't be improved for us. Guess that's why I'm here, sick of hiding and being treated like dirt so I've thrown my lot in here. So I suppose you've got to figure out why you're here. Then it'll be easier to find a purpose and job for you won't it?"

"If you just came to pay a debt and do a job you'd have left when you saw it was done. You haven't though. And you clearly don't hate the job. So...there must be something you agree with here, even if it isn't all of it." He can't give Sengai a reason but at least he can try to help.

Simon has already gone through this sort of dilemma, it's what ultimately made him leave Xavier's. He felt there was no purpose to his being there and was sick of the hiding and playing nice all the time. At least now he didn't have to hide or constantly help people who hated him.
