Alex clears his throat and steps ahead of Azura and Groot, having let them walk in front temporarily for appearances' sake. Now he just had to hope that the reading he'd done on the two races was accurate. The Merai wouldn't allow armed envoys, and while Red and Eliza's weapons were costly, but all replaceable. Godslayer, on the other hand, wasn't so easily reproduced, and the Rorians cared less about armaments. If anything went wrong at this end, Alex and Azura were both armed and had Groot as a siege-breaker; at the other end, Iason was the armament.

As he came near the Rorian guards, he denied them eye contact and walked past, keeping himself a fixed distance from his teammates as he did so. When he finally is within sight of Lord Varas, he stops, giving a jerk of his head to signal the same to Azura and Groot. He then makes deliberate eye contact with the canine, bares his teeth slightly, and turns his head slightly to one side, exposing his neck just as briefly.

"I am Captain Alex Quill, of Knowhere Station. In accordance with the treaties this system is signatory to, I have brought my pack here to go between your warring peoples."

Lord Varas sat on a throne slightly elevated above the others in the room. True to Irath's story, he wore a breathing-helmet attached to a small air-tank. The sound of the air and the lord's strained breathing were soft, but audible.

"Indeed," the voice spoke with strain. He seems to look at the trio, for a brief instant pausing on Azura, before turning back to Alex. "Irath goes beyond himself contacting outsiders, but," he changes the dial on the tank for a moment. "if all-out war can be avoided, it can be forgiven."

	Groot also stays quiet, though he was admittingly curious why Varas looked at Azura as long as he did. As far as he knew Rorians did not find humanoids attractive. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
