Iason picks that moment to launch himself at the field, building up a corona of energy around his form to add that to the raw impact. He's not particularly worried if he can't get to the Man-Beast right off - he's just trying to stress and possibly weaken his defense screen to make openings for the others, and force him to split his attention.
