The Serpent Awakes
Kazama Goda, foreman of the construction crew, oversaw the removal of the debris left in the wake of the dragon attack. All the damn monsters..he was seriously considering moving. Maybe to South Korea, he had family there on his uncle's side,

"Goda-san, you've got to see this!"

"What is it?" Goda asked, annoyed.

"I don't know, I think it's a dinosaur fossil!"

Officially intrigued, Kazuma went over to where it looked like a partially unburied, reptilian skull.

"Kami," he gasped, moving toward it.The attack must have uncovered it. It was magnificient, he thought, mesmerized and moving toward it.

"Goda-san?" one of the workers called.

He didn't hear it. He reached out and touched the skull..and Kazuma Goda vanished in a wave of primal power. A burst of energy enveloped the body, practically exploding with raw energy. It mutated and shifted, scales forming and muscles shifting as the body transformed in mid-air. Some of the workers fled, others seemed transfixed by what was happening. Finally it stopped as he majestically floated back to the ground, eyes closed.

"Kazuma?" One of the braver workers asked.

The eyes opened, yellow with slitted pupils.

"No," and a burst of lightning sends the man flying into a group of his colleagues. "Finally...flesh..blood. It is not much, but it is a start." He turns in the direction of a strong pulse. "Yes, merely the beginning." And he casually walks in the direction of the signal, energy crackling the ground as his feet touched.

Thankfully, the only furniture is the kneeling pads to keep them out of the dirt, and more comfortable, and the low table itself.

Hajime prepares the tea quickly, but with at least the minimum of traditional ceremony - tea is important. The rice is served and offered over, with small plates of steamed and seasoned vegetables, seaweed and fish offered to mix in with it, as the guest likes.

Only when all the food has been laid out, and the guest is given his tea does the host speak.

"Hos is it you have returned?"

	Hajime relates the legend, watching for reactions to various parts of it. The story wouldn't be hard to find, so he sees no point in hiding anything or leaving anything out. He might even be able to glean something here. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Orochi composes himself. "I see the Amatsu-Kami have..indulged their creative whims in regards to our ancient battle. You feature Susanoo prominently, which that much is true. What they don't tell you is that there was never any placating of food and drink. I never demanded maidens. I simply intended to take this land as my own. The Kami protested..in force." "I do not argue that, nor why you might be interested in attempting to take it back." he replies politely. For dealing with an enemy and murderer, he's enjoying the experience of an enemy with some grasp of the conventions of civilization. Its refreshing.

"However, as I have had made abundantly clear to me... things change. You were opposed then, and the island will not be just given to you now either."

Orochi considers that a moment. "This was..pleasant. Human civilization will not be utterly destroyed. All who serve me will have a place. Perhaps you will find some comfort in that." It was the closest Orochi could come to a kind word.

"I see. Then there is no rule stating I cannot do this!" His mouth opens wider than any normal human and launches a massive fireball through the door to those he suspected awaited outside to attack him.

	No one was immediately outside the structure. Amiko cannot avoid calling out. "I realize I'm a mere girl," she says with cold politeness, "but credit me at least without huddling an ambush around the door." Hajime nods to the first comment. Indeed, while he would give his life if needed to prevent this being from ruling, it is because he serves a different master. The idea of rule by the strongest only makes a certain degree of sense, if rule by the righteous descendent of the kami is not possible. This entire democracy thing makes very little sense still.

At the fireball, he quirks a brow at least. "Anyone who would have hidden in ambush would have deserved that." he replies, without hesitation.
"May I have one minute to leave the tent, and prepare for battle properly? My ancestors should be told that I may be joining them."
