Happy Anniversary
Svalin had been very busy for the past two days. Vernique and she had traveled to New York to see Dr. Vernard and Mr. Stark to have Svalin's artificial arm attached. It had gone well, though it did take longer than expected due to some complications with the nanites working with her Asgardian physiology. In the end they got it to work and Svalin was able to use it almost as if it were her real hand. They had told her to ease into using it, but Svalin didn't have time. She had a wife and a son to protect.

It was awkward at first, but hours spent using it with her sword paid off and it was almost as if she hadn't lost most of her arm. It even looked exactly like a flesh and blood arm and Svalin couldn't see any difference between her natural arm and the replacement. She spent hours practicing and felt more comfortable with it.

All of her time was not spent practicing, however. There was the matter of her wife and their anniversary to attend to. In Asgard they didn't really keep track of anniversaries or birthdays for that matter, but Svalin knew on Migard these things were important. With that in mind she had made sure she had gifts for her wife to celebrate their marriage a year ago.

Svalin knew her wife loved butterflies and brooches so she had one specially made for Vernique. From Solver her wife would receive a pair of matching earrings.

With gifts in hands, Svalin went to find her wife.

Svalin shook her head. "Nay."

It was the opposite. Hal wasn't too concerned about guys with his sisters since his sisters could handle any man and put them in a world of hurt if need be. Also Hal always said that Svalin needed to relax more and enjoy life. Even she would admit that she was serious almost all of the time.

"I wouldst say he wouldst be glad to see me taking an interest in someone. He hath on many occasions said I need to relax and enjoy life more. He ist also aware of mine abilities to protect and defend myself if need be."

That Hal would be glad to see her taking an interest in someone after knowing how she had felt about Jon was left unsaid.

"I art also older than he. It ist mine duty to look after him."

He chuckles. "Oh, probably so... though he usually really prefers stories starring Paladin... even if some of us haven't been able to determine him actually being there at... well... all sorts of points in history. But they're interesting stories anyway. Feel free to buy a round of drinks and tell your story... just be prepared to hear about the time he slew three dragons."

	Svalin put her flesh and blood hand in his and smiled a little at how warm his hand was. She could feel callouses on the palm and fingers and she appreciated him a little more. Twenty five minutes later they were seated at the breakfast counter in the kitchen. Svalin had brought out mead, beer and a few different pies. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

He has a healthy appetite, and at least tries the mead - appreciating it, while still preferring beer. It may not typically go with pie - but he seems to find the combination works just fine.

While eating dessert and drinking, he goes into pretty intense detail on a couple of his war stories that aren't classified. He may not be the most gifted storyteller, not embellishing any, but he has a good memory for detail, and the stories would probably be somewhat interesting from a tactical perspective as well.

	Svalin listened intently and particularly interested in them from a tactical approach. She tried not to interrupt often, but she did have questions about certain tactics and asked why certain ones were used. She didn't eat much pie, but she did put down a few glasses of mead while she listened. When he was done she smiled. "Thank thee." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

He takes some time aside to explain a lot of the purpose in the here and now of, essentially, black ops, at least as the good guys would use it. He's happy to go over questions, trying to explain them in ways that'd make sense, and then sometimes asks after Asgardian equivalents.

"Hey, no problem." he answers at last. "Like I said, not as colorful as the old man, but given that we're kept plenty busy, we collect a lot of stories while doing the bounty hunting."
