Boredom breeds bravery.
She'd been there a couple days now, tucked away in 'her room'. Food had been brought for her and Andrea-robot and touchy-Vincent had both tried to engage her in conversation, but she had nothing to talk about. All she wanted to know was when she'd be able to leave and why they kept saying she was related to someone she wasn't. They'd also told her she was free to 'move about the building' as she wanted, something she wasn't so sure about.

But, after the second day in the room, she'd gotten curious. Opening the door, she waited for alarms to sound, or feet to come rushing to put her back in. Nothing. Peeking her head around the frame, she saw no one, heard no one. Which made her a little braver; pushing the door flat open and standing there expectantly. Nope. Nothing. Well. We'd see about that. Taking a decisive step out of the room, she stuck her chin out, picking a direction to at random and marching down it.

She came to a room, one with couches and wide glass windows. Going over to one of the windows, she stood with her hands pressed against it, looking out at the city below her. So busy, like little ants. With the insulation of the building she couldn't hear the cacophony below, but she remembered it from her brief flight over. Busy, loud and chaotic. There didn't seem to be any order or regulations to anything they did. It was somewhat frightening, but also something that piqued her curiosity; nudging at memories long buried and locked away.

Considering the tinkering done to her at the facility, she was lucky they hadn't given her gills or a tail or something ridiculous. But... she'd found being able to move things with her mind to come in pretty handy - whenever they'd let her use it.

She felt a phantom pinch of the collar at her neck, stretching it slightly to ease it before beginning to cut into the fluffy ovals.

	Andrea started to work on her own pancakes. While she derived most of her energy from a self-cycling 4-D battery source, she did require occasional recharging. Further, she could enjoy eating from a taste standpoint, and process it for limited amounts of additional energy. "Are you enjoying your pancakes?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Evie looked over at her, cheeks bulging with pancakes from the mouthful she'd just crammed in. She tried to smile around the food, nodding. The chocolate chips were like little explosions of sweetness every time she found one. It was kind of fun. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Trying to chew through the mouthful quickly, she looked down at herself, not seeing any difference. Maybe her robot circuits could see something she couldn't. 	Before the offer could be rescinded, Evie snuck over and piled a couple more pancakes on her plate, mimicking Andrea's buttering and syruping technique of before. Then she went back to her corner of the kitchen, digging into her breakfast with glee. Yes, Evie was now a firm fan of pancakes. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
