Lunch and family
Natasha went with neutral ground for this meeting. Matt in her home was probably not a good idea no matter how she looked at it. Neutral ground meant some place out and some place that would offer some amount of privacy. That left her clearing out Big Nick's for lunch. Thankfully the place was more than willing to cater to Mrs. Stark.

Natasha arrived with Eliza and Misha, sending a text to Tony letting him know where they'll be if he wanted to meet them. They grabbed a table with four extra chairs. One for Tony if he showed and three for Matt, Jack and Elektra. Natasha silently prayed that the Greek Ninja would not be coming. It would just add more tension to a situation that was already guaranteed to be very tense.

She sat quietly at the table and sipped her diet soda. She was steering clear of vodka until after this, but she could really use a few shots before seeing Matt.

"Privacy is a pretty precious commodity in these circles," Matt said in acknowledgement of Eliza and Misha's comments.

Since he can guess what 'We' Natasha is referring to, he nodded a little.

Eliza bites her lip thoughtfully then nods.

"Okay. I can work with that. You know what the schools are like." But she'd still have an opinion once she had information. She'd look at it too.

"If there's anything I can do to help," Jack said, "let me know."

"It's best to take this one step at a time. We all need to adjust to the new situation." Matt Murdock was no longer a friend and an old boyfriend. He was now practically family.

"Jack certainly knows how some of the school-related runaround works," Matt says with a small smile. At Tasha's comment, he just nods in agreement.

When the food got there, he'd keep his mouth full for a little while until addressed directly again. Somebody counting on him in a way where Tasha had to be constantly included in the picture again took a lot,/i> of adjusting.

"I went to home schooling when Dad started spending a lot of time out of town on cases so Mom and I could go with him or visit when he had time. And I had a ... sensory problem. Back then."

"Oh. I guess I had it better than you then, Jack. I just get headaches sometimes," she admits. "They're manageable."

She glances around at the members of her family that are here and nods. "Yeah. I just need the time to get used to things."

It was defiantly throwing her for a loop though. Misha had been startling this morning but now Jack too? It was just so strange to suddenly have three brothers, one she still needs to at least talk to, and a sister. She just preferred to focus on one thing that was really important to her and everything else she'd take time getting used to.

"We're not that bad, Eliza. Just don't let Mom or Anya cook for you and you're all set."

"In my defense, I am getting better," Natasha defended. "Your sister is just hopeless. Anya, I mean." She's still getting used to the idea of having two daughters. For some reason that thought scared her.

"Needing time's understandable." Very. "As to the headaches, I certainly hope you do take care of yourself don't just try to ignore them."

"I wear sunglasses when I go out so changes in light don't bother me too much. I haven't had a b ad episode...in about a month," she admits with a small shrug. "I just need to be careful to not let my eyes get exposed to too much light period."

She bites her lip. "And I'm not allowed to cook on gas stoves, Misha. It's why my bangs are short near the top."

She'll avoid the details there.

"So I guess you're going to eat a lot of microwave food and takeout, Eliza," Jack said with something of a smile.

"We have a doctor on staff at the mansion," Natasha said. "He can help you with headaches and there is a sensory deprivation tank as well."

She looked at Jack and smiled. "We do that now. Jarvis takes pity on us and provides us with homecooked meals. Though Tony can cook a few things."

Misha put an arm across the back of Mom's chair and shifted in his seat. "So let's see - no one is going hungry, Eliza has more family than she planned, she'll be researching her education options, and you're getting her some ID fast before Anya wants to take her shopping -- in Milan."

The lack of details wasn't making Matt feel any better about a statement like that, Eliza! "...Thank Heaven for Jarvis," he managed softly after a pause.

Then, to Misha's statements. "Succinct."

She squirms a little but isn't about to say she was trying to fry an egg and the yoke didn't make it into the pan. It went down hill from there. But she didn't get hurt!

Really. Just some scorched hair that got trimmed off.

"...She really likes shopping then," Eliza says slowly. "More than most people I know, anyways."

"Succinct is something I inherited from my father, Mr. Murdock. And shopping is something Anya inherited from Mom, Eliza. She really likes to shop."

"Saying your sister really likes to shop is an understatement," Natasha groused. "Lack of cooking skills is something inherited from me as well. I can burn water." She looked at Matt. "Yes, Jarvis is a godsend."

"Good thing there's take out. Tony and Jarvis can't come to our rescue all the time. Of course cereal and cold cuts are safe.." She shrugs but has a relaxed expression on her face.

"Take it from me, you don't want them to cook," Misha advised. His arm around Mom's chair back hugged her a couple of seconds to let her know he was kidding. "Except when Mom makes blinis. She can make blinis. Go figure."
