Dissent Foments
It was time for plans to come together. Gideon walked down a particular street of Hammer Bay and knocked on the door of a little house. Erik had been long-term intellectual and emotional investment, and, if Gideon was right, an essential one.

"Good evening, Mrs. Mellencamp," he said with his most charming smile. "I'm just here to talk to Erik."

Mrs. Mellencamp had a similar mutation to her husband, the late Seamus Mellencamp. She had orange snakelike scales, three fingers and toes that no glove or shoe could cover, and large black eyes. They blinked a few times at the arrival of the man who had been by to see Erik several times now.

"Mr. Moreau," she said cautiously. "Why do you want to see my son?"

"It's okay, Mom. Gideon just wants to talk." Erik said as he walked in.

She looked back at Gideon. "Do you want anything to drink?" she asked politely.

All that personal emotional growth, ability of the populace to stand on its own two feet? It's suddenly rendered unnecessary. And, well... maybe I'm biased on the trial thing because of what happened to my father; I'll admit that."
