Adventures in Babysitting (Misha)
Anya finally had a long weekend where she didn't have to be traveling somewhere in the world for Renaissance Tech and the Boston area had been quiet and didn't need Thunderbolts intervention. It meant that she had some time to head to New York and spend some time with the family. It felt like forever since she had spent some time with her family.

After a few days it was quite clear that Mom and Dad had their hands full with Nick and needed a break. Anya volunteered to babysit. Though she wasn't going to do it alone. Even she knew she would need backup so she called His Highness Prince Dork. Not only would he have her back, but it would give the three of them some quality sibling bonding time.

A day at the Bronx Zoo would provide just that.

"There will be a lot of explaining to do, but I don't think she's going to be that mad. Not shooting mad anyways. It wouldn't hurt to have expensive chocolate on hand."

"Please. We all know that even if we did throw you to the lions, you'd heal with that fancy healing factor."

"But it would hurt a lot while I healed," he protested. "I'll have chocolate delivered by noon. Then I'll think about making an appearance. Hopefully she'll have mellowed, but you know something? She can be shooting mad at me for longer because I'll heal."

"I'll suggest lunch at Big Nick's," Anya said. "She's less likely to shoot family members in public."

"You mean us and Mom? Think it's safe?"

"Us, Monkey Boy and Mom. I don't think she'd shoot us in public. Too many witnesses." She hoped.

"It's the part where there are no witnesses that concerns me," he said with a sigh. "All right, what time is lunch in your world?"

"We'll see you at noon," Anya told him.

"All right. Then I'm leaving the country. Hey, maybe she won't shoot because Monkey Boy is watching."

"I'll have Dad frisk her for weapons before she leaves just to be on the safe side."

"What would be the point? She'd only be armed again before she left the car. Mom's not unreasonable. We can explain what happened. Let her raise hell with Monkey Boy's security for not protecting his best interest, or ours for that matter. Nobody even hinted the kid was sneaking away."

"Yeah, I've been wondering about that. We'll definitely have to bring that up. I better go. I'll see you at noon at Big Nick's. Love you Dork."

"Noon," he echoed. "Love ya, Brat."

He glanced at the bedside clock again. It was still early enough. He could get some more sleep in case Mom's yelling lasted long into the night.

He dropped the phone to the carpet, rolled over on the bed and put his head under a pillow.
