This just in
Kayura had found a file that just came in from one of their sources. For a moment she ignored it and she turned to walk away. Something stopped her though. She had no idea what it was or her reason and then she turned back and sat down to open the file and scanned it over.

The geologists gone missing was unfortunate. She knew getting lost could be dangerous. Then she felt her blood run a little cold. Recognizing a name was never good.

So she did some research. The further back she went the more she knew that the men had gotten taken by something both old and supernatural in origin. She printed out what she found and grabbed the file and moved quickly.

She might run into someone on the way or she might not either way she had to go see Amiko right now. They couldn't sit on this. Not with the dam being fixed in the area more people might be at risk.

Something in Kayura's gut told her this would be really bad.

Kayura puts the file down then spreads the information out. She shakes her head.

"I looked. This is bad Amiko-san. We can't let a local search and rescue team do this. can tell. I looked back. The statistics are wrong for just hikers and surveyors to go missing." Kayura looked very serious about this.

"We have to go. Whatever is doing this will have more victims. The project for the dam will bring more people. More potential victims."

	Kayura gave a sigh of relief. She hadn't even realized that she had been waiting for Amiko to agree. "Good. I'll.... start looking at local legends. Maybe there's something besides numbers that will give us some kind of warning." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She nodded in agreement. "I understand. I'll look as far back as I can. It's just..." Kayura wrinkles her nose in thought. "I know this sounds weird but I keep getting this sense that there's something important I need to know. I'm just not sure what. 	"Hai." She bows and leves quickly. Amiko will have a few hours to herself before Kayura returns. She has a few scrolls and lots of different papers in her hand. "I think I know what happened." Kayura looks very serious now. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Mmm." Kayura with care unrolls the scroll.

"This was in my Father's personal collection. But see here?" She traces the mountain range. "There used to be a village, according to the records. They were remote enough because of the mountains. Well about four hundred years ago rumors spread that they were loosing young women. One every other year... or there was a sudden drop in local bandits. No one really knew why. After all, who asks too many questions when their villages get attacked less?"

She smiles tightly but then moves on.

"There were reports of a 'hidden ritual'. And speculation by one of my ancestors about dark magic as he had sensed something but couldn't quite pin it down. He was hunting vampires at the time and did not dare stay for long."

Kayura looks more and more grim now. "When he came back he found a young terrified girl. She wasn't even old enough to be thought of as an adult. She was hurt badly and said that something was going wrong in the village. That it had to be stopped. He tended her injuries and found her a place to stay while he went to see what it was. But the village was gone. No trace of anything.... Aimko-san. This is the same place. I think it might be the spirits of the dead combined with whatever it was they were really doing there."

"You need to be prepared for anything with the ritual itself. We don't know exactly what it was, possibly to contain something as the village isn't there but the things around it are."

Kayura looks thoughtful. "It could be anything to a powerful demon or... something else. Another more powerful spirit. In the case of ghosts you have to find out what they need to pass over. Often times they'll have... requests. If they are still rational. It's..."

Kayura feels a sense of unease. "It's entirely possible that they're reliving whatever it was that killed them over and over again. Which means that they may be violent. They will view the living as their enemies so we have to calm them down. Thankfully if we have to we can fight them almost regularly. It's still not easy to fight an angry ghost. And if possible... I want Grogg. He'd be excellent for fighting a demon. I think Clockwork could manage a banishment ritual if it's a demon. He might also recognize things I wouldn't know on sight."

	Kayura looks very tense right now. She's normally relaxed and a little more friendly so this is different. "I'll explain once Clockwork-san gets here Grogg." Frowns not looking unfriendly just tense and goes back to examining a very old looking scroll. (Reply to this)(Parent)

And here they all were. Kayura made a nervous sound while she cleared her throat then launched into the explanation.

"Earlier today a report on some missing geological surveyors was passed our way. I just happened to look at the file and well. Something looked very familiar about the region they were lost in."

She pauses then launches forward with her explanation. "For the past four hundred years people have been going missing here all the time." She shows them the area on the map. It's up towards the mountains and near a river that is going to be dammed up soon.

"I am aware through my father's records of why." She taps a smaller location here. "There was a village here. There are references to a 'hidden' or forbidden ritual. Mt ancestor did not have time to deal with the problem it was only latter he came across a young girl who was.... a survivor. She escaped whatever was going to happen and the village was just gone. I know it's back now and that the spirits there have become dangerous and whatever ritual they were trying to perform has affected them."

Kayura dips her head. "Yes Grogg-san, they are real. But do not worry you're very brave. I'm sure nothing bad will happen to you."

Kayura moves on after that. "We need to get into the village itself. Find out what went wrong and cleanse the location. We'll face the difficulty of numerous spirits. More people have died since the original event so it's feeding into the corruption of the land. I suspect that there is something there besides the ghosts. I can't say for certain but I'm running under the assumption that it is a demon that is still bound to that location. So we will have to either fight it or banish it from this realm.... I'm thinking Clockwork-san may be able to banish it if he gets a feel for the kinds of magics that are holding it in place now."
