The Battle for Everything (Sept 22nd-23rd)
Asgard. The Golden Realm. The Realm Eternal. One of the nine worlds. Home of the Norse gods. Darkness covered the land and the realm's inhabitants had retired for the evening. Peace and quiet had fallen over a land frequently subjected to strife and violence.

A blinding light shattered the darkness and Kang and his followers materialized from the portal. Kang took a second to survey the scene. The reshaping of worlds started here. Tonight he would have the one who would be a thorn in his side decades from now. Tonight gods would fall and die and the babe would be his. The last weapon to be collected and one that would help him reshape worlds in Kang's image.

"Kill them all," Kang said to his gathered forces collected from various worlds from various points in time.

The ones that had given the so-called-heroes the most problems. The new Mandarin, son of the former, at the height of his power before he made the mistake of getting involved with the Stark girl. Apocalypse plucked from time just before his defeat at the hands of the X-Men, X-Factor and the Avengers. Hyperion the titan of myth plucked from time before his defeat at the hands of heroes. These joined the deviants he grabbed before their defeat and a being named Mongul.

"The babe being born this night is mine," Kang said. The child would serve Kang and be the implement of Kang's will.

	She flings the hammer into the blasts, triggering a massive explosion. It rocks her back, but not as bad as it might have. She flies forward as the hammer returns, trying to slam the shield into his forcefield. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The shield slammed into the force field and the impact had enough force to send Kang backwards. The shields held, but Kang had been moved. He pulled a large weapon seemingly out of mid-air and opened fire on Sarah. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Sarah was focusing on using the shield as a weapon, and can't get it back down in time to block the shot. She's fast enough to avoid taking it head on, but does get clipped in the side, being thrown back and to the side by the blast. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	This time she blocks the brunt of it with the shield, taking further burns to her arm around the edge, but keeping steady. She slams Mjolnir down, trying to crack the ground beneath him. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The blasts hit and though they didn't do much damage to Kang, they got his attention. Which meant that Sarah would have a clean shot. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Sarah is worthy - she can lift the hammer. Which means that, no matter the odds, she's not the type to take cheap shots, whether Quinn is or not.

On the other hand, it does give her a chance to catch her breath, recover her balance, hover upwards, and begin whirling the hammer, building up power. By the time the villain is recovered, the spinning hammer is crackling with magical electrical energies.

"As I was saying... This. Ends."

	Quinn doesn't mind taking cheap shots or being the distraction. The Crimson Bands of Cytorrak wrapped around Kang and Quinn kept squeezing them tighter. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Quinn wondered what the bloody hell Sarah was waiting for then he remembered the /Rogers/ thing. Bloody hells. He caught her eye and nodded. He'd release the bands at the last second and then let her strike. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Sarah groans, sitting back up painfully. She can see Quinn distracting Kang, but is fairly sure that's what it is - a distraction. Kang was prepared to battle the whole of the New Avengers - including their two mages. They haven't gotten through his field, and while they've worked together before, its been a while.

Sarah pushes back up to her feet, whirling the hammer again, summoning the dimensional energies to well up around it, hoping Quinn can stay alive and keep Kang occupied a little longer, because right now, she's a sitting duck.

	While the claws attacked the shield, Quinn cast another spell and put Kang in the middle of a sphere of total darkness. Quinn was good at being annoying. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Kang's shields held against the claws, but the darkness presented another problem for a few moments. He switched to thermal imaging and could see the mage and the girl. He unleashed a concussive blast at the mage. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Sarah winces. She can feel the pressure wave from the blast, aware how big Kang's big weapon blasts got. Her first instinct is to try and protect Quinn, or even shout a warning - but that'd draw attention back to her, too soon.

Almost there, gathering the energies, fighting against the strain. She knows Quinn knows what he's doing - and knows the risks he's taking in buying time.

She just hopes the Rogers' honor doesn't get someone else killed.

The strain builds up, electrical energy coursing down her arms, her dislocated shoulder and re-broken ribs screaming at her - but she's almost there. Just a couple more seconds... just hold out a couple more seconds.
