If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles.
Mikel sat in one of the executive offices and looked at the screen in front of him. Cancer had really outdone himself this time. The S.H.I.E.L.D. databases were filled with teraflops of information and it would have taken Mikel a few lifetimes to find all the information he needed. Not to mention get past all the security measures even though Mikel had access. He wouldn't put it past the old man to have extra security measures in place.

The gem of the information was everything a person wanted to know about the spandex set. Every power, every identity and every dirty little secret they were hiding. Mikel could use this information. It would make things easier. With the spandex set out of the way, he wouldn't have too much to worry about.

Carefully he went through each file. Making notes as he went.

"Warn the Fantastic Four and Xavier's people not to trust anything coming from SHIELD until the problem is resolved. You need to put the Avengers on alert. I'll have an orderly come in to help with Tony. The story will be that he's being transferred to a private hospital. Once you're out, don't come in no matter what message you're given. Do what you have to do, only...be careful with Sammy. She's following Mikel blindly thanks to the mutant Mikel is using to brainwash them. This isn't her fault. It's ours."

She met Tasha's eyes. "Tell Logan that the security detail that was brought in unconscious is Misha's, and Misha is off the grid. Mikel believes I'm brainwashed with the others, so I couldn't let anyone know. I don't know what happened to them. Logan can track him down while you warn the others and put them on guard."

	Natasha sent a quick text to Rhodey with the simple message of to be out front five minutes ago. "I'll call Logan once we're out of here," she said as she checked the various weapons she always carried. A pistol at her waist, one at her ankle and a knife at the small of her back. Natasha activated the device Tony gave her. Mikel and co didn't need to be listening to their conversation.

"That's going to be your job," Natasha told him. "Once we're out of here, you and Rhodey need to tell the kids and let the others know. If this is something against the spandex set, we all need to be ready."

When it rained, it poured and apparently it's been monsoon season for the past year.

Valentina allowed that Tony’s condition kept him from realizing she’d already offered the information he was asking for now. “Mikel is determined to hurt Nick as much as possible and Sammy is what he’s using to do it. I don’t know if I’ll be able to get any messages to you, or if I might be compromised when I do. I need you to contact the other groups and start looking a way to undo the mutant’s brainwashing. Get Xavier or anybody else you can think of on the problem. Use Sammy as a test subject if you need one. She’ll be allowed to come and go as normal to avoid any notice of what’s happening here.”

Surprisingly enough they made it to the front entrance with no resistance. It bothered Natasha more that there wasn't any resistance than if there had been.

As promise, Rhodey was there waiting with a car. Natasha offered a hand to her husband to help him in the car. She wouldn't just assume he needed help and injure his pride. It was his choice.

"Thanks Val. If you need anything, find a way to contact us."

“I’ll try, but don’t trust me unless you can be sure I’m not compromised.”

She waved them off, still acting casual on the outside and sighing with relief on the inside. Two more out of harm’s way. With any luck, she’d have SHIELD cleared of unnecessary personnel with the next round of leave requests she intended to approve before she closed shop for the day. Then she would have another drug-induced nap.
