"This spell won't damage it, so you'll still have it for evidence." Matt says, waiting for her to hand it over.
When she does so, Matt concentrates, taking the better part of five minutes to enact the spell as he holds onto his pentagram necklace. Karen has seen him use this spell before and knows how accurate it is. He speaks Austin Caine's name and waits for the necklace to point the way.
Nothing happens. At all.
"Okay...not good. That spell should have pointed out Caine's general direction from here. The only reasons it wouldn't work are if he's not on in this dimension, he's hidden from tracking...or if he's dead." Matt says, handing the ID back to her.
"We might have to wait for him to turn up the old fashioned way." Matt says, taking a deep breath.
"I'll call you from the hospital once I have an update." he says, calling Whisper to him.
