Time for a Chat
Danielle was resting after another blood test. Vicki wasn't far from her if she needed anything.
There'd been a great deal going on, and Moira had several things on her mind, only some of which she wanted there.
So that afternoon she called up an old pal.

	At first, Lucas doesn't seem to notice, even if Vincent isn't quite the sneak Moira is. The native teen doesn't open his eyes, remaining sitting cross-legged at water's edge. Vincent seemed to remember something, sweeping his hand up and away from Lucas' just before the other boy could have grabbed it. "Ah... but where are my manners. You are in the garb of your... talents, I should be so polite as well." He brought his palms together, breathing deeply, and his clothing morphed into Asgardian mage robes. He re-extended the hand, smiling. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance."

He tilted his head. "There's a certain... irregularity around you. Not just a mutant, are you?" He smiled, intrigued.

	Lucas quirks a brow. "That's interesting, but hardly necessary. Most of the spirits are old, very traditional... they prefer the garb they remember when being spoken to, if they're going to listen. Just them I'm being polite to. As to the other question, I'd like to think no one here is 'just' an anything, mutant or otherwise." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"What's the nature of your communing with them? Shamanistic or some other sort of inborn power?" Vincent couldn't care less about Moira thinking he's silly now. He's talking shop. Lucas shrugs, noting the glitter with a small frown, but not much of one. "No apologies necessary, but I'm afraid I can't answer your question in a way that's likely to satisfy your curiosity." He cups his hands and scoops up some of the water, letting it slowly trickle through his fingers.
"The magic that I do isn't mine any more than this water is mine because I let it run through my fingers. Its here, it exists, and the spirits are kind enough to let it run through my hands now and then because I know how to ask nicely. The spirits, and the magic, were here before me, they'll be here when I'm gone. They're just kind enough to let me put my hands in the stream now and then. So to be quite frank, when you ask, in terms of magic, 'what can I do', the best answer I can give you is: I listen."

Vincent listens and nods politely. "My power.. is more inborn. I've learned to work with the elements as well, but I've never heard them speak with me as you describe it." He stated that perhaps a bit enviously.

"I'd love to discuss the workings of your magic, or how it is worked through you, perhaps, at length some other time." He smiled. "For now though..." He glanced towards Moira, then held up the bottle. "May I offer you the chance to tell me a a bit about yourself over a glass of mead?"

"With the exception of museums, zoos, and art galleries, I'm a bit more nocturnal in terms of being outside. City nightlife is my passion, after science, magic, and formerly women. Now relegated to just one woman in particular." A pause. "Happily so, just to clarify." He grinned.

"As for my inborn talents... they're numerous, but can be simplified down to the traits of Asgardian blood, high sorcerous power, and a mind-bashingly advanced intellect."

"All that and humble too?" Lucas asks with a small smile and quirked brow. "I'm afraid that while museums and zoos are both high on my list, we don't share a lot in common. I tend to associate the words active nightlife with noisy crickets and racoons in the campsite. I can't say much for a passion for women either... I seem to have gotten that perfect on the first try."

"Demi-gods are entitled to a bit of candor, good sir." Vincent replies with a smirk. "Well I'm sure that will be a sufficient bit of common ground, provided we can firmly instill unto Moira and Danielle the difference between a petting zoo and a free-range buffet." He chuckles.

"And you would do well to remember that last part." His tone is friendly, but his face hints at a mild undercurrent of politely threatening concern. So far though, the boy seems alright.
