Matter of Honor: The Enemy of My Enemy is My... Uncle
Amiko certainly didn't see eye to eye with her foster mother's brother. But they'd had a polite truce for years, ever since he and Logan had come to something resembling a truce of their own.  Which had involved her, and involved the Sword. That gave her an additional sense of responsibility to see such an important symbol of Clan Yashida restored to a branch of the clan that still had some concept of what honor was.

She was grateful that the others had come.

... She was grateful, but quite some ways away from the small cottage where Kenuicho was convalescing, she stopped.  "Asako, Grogg, I need to ask you something in particular."

Amiko listens carefully and bows again. "Thank you, Uncle."

She takes a breath. She was an agent of the law, and about to break it, but she'd already settled on that in this endeavour. She'd been brought up to respect old aristocratic solutions to certain problems.

"Since one of my colleagues is so inconveniencing your nurse, Uncle, may I get you something? The phone, pen and paper?" She slowly takes her own small sword off of her back. It's nothing special, nothing remotely compared to Hajime's, but it's a respectable blade which she'd used in government service. She stands holding it and waiting.

Hajime chooses now to speak, drawing his own katana and wakizashi.

"This should only be done with a proper blade. Please... it would be my honor. The only failing this blade has ever seen is that it has not yet tasted the life of my father's killer. I hope it will suffice."

The wakizashi, of course, is for Amiko... in case he screams. The wakizashi, of course, is Hajime's soul, as the katana is his honor. By offering it, he puts Amiko's faith in his own conviction and adherence to the test - she should only accept it if she believes the blade, and Hajime's soul, worthy.

"You assume that there is anyone left who would care to hear my words, Amiko.

Make it quick. That is all I ask." Harada says.

Amiko does remember that much about the wakizashi, and bows with a grateful "Thank you." She hasn't known Hajime all that long, but the fact that he's an impeccably worthy person in every old-fashioned sense is inescapable.

"Could you excuse us please?" she asks them. When they do...

Amiko and her Uncle attend to Business with quiet and efficiency.

When Amiko comes out of that room again, she is getting bits of blood off of her wrists. Hajime's weapons are clean and she returns them to him gratefully.

Hajime treats the occasion with perfect solemnity, nodding to the request and quietly filing out of the room. If he's ever asked, he will, with perfect sincerity, attest to witnessing the event, and attest to the fact that Kenuichio Harada was perfectly strong and capable of comitting seppuku without aid - as it should be, and he composed himself with perfect honor throughout.

Sometimes the truth must be the right thing, instead of an accounting of events.

He kneels outside the room, praying to his ancestors and the ancestors of the emperors family that they will find this final sacrifice, and this final service to honor acceptable enough to consider Kenuichio Harada's soul worthy, at least, of being given a chance to try again.

When the others came out of the room to leave Amiko alone Ryota could be found kicking the still talking nurse bot's head against a wall like a soccer ball. Not far behind him were the smoldering bullet hole ridden body of the nurse bot that was without a doubt beyond repair by anyone on the planet. The nurse bot's head was not very happen about the treatment it was being given and was complaining about it is as polite terms as possible while Ryota rudely told it back that he did not care.

He was debating whether he was going to keep the head for fun or just blow it the hell up when they got outside when the other had come out. Noting their solemn looks Ryota stopped playing around much the the Nurse's delight. When he say Amiko come out he had been a little surprised but didn't let it show.

"Do you want to get going or do you need a minute or two," He asked.

"I will assist you later in cleaning and attending to yourself, Amiko," Kikuya says softly and bows to Amiko acknowledging the task she has just completed with the utmost reverence.

"Thank you very much," Amiko says. We should make our exit, and rendezvous with Grogg and Asako."
